Water Resources Technical Advisor

About the opportunity

SWCA Environmental Consultants is seeking a Water Resources Technical Advisor to support our Rocky Mountain Front Range and Upper Plains water resources practice and projects. The selected individual will be an experienced practitioner with recognized Water Resources expertise. The Water Resources Technical Advisor will report to one of SWCA’s Vice Presidents of Scientific and Technical Services.   This is an hourly, temporary (without benefits) position.

What you will accomplish

As a Water Resources Technical Advisor, you will:

  • Be recognized as a water resources technical authority (e.g., subject matter expert) and resource to provide advice and expertise to SWCA staff, projects and clients
  • Provide expertise to SWCA project managers on complex Water Resources projects
  • Work closely with various team members throughout the planning and execution of projects
  • Prepare, review and provide QA/QC for technical documents as part of water resources projects
  • Provide expert witness services
  • Collaborate with clients, SWCA staff, and resource and regulatory agency staff to ensure project success

Experience and qualifications for success

EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS FOR SUCCESS

  • Masters degree in water resources, biology, hydrology or related field
  • At least 15 years of professional experience as a water resources scientist
  • Strong knowledge of water quality assessments, wetlands, drainage restoration design and planning, and Clean Water Act permitting
  • Strong technical writing and QA/QC skills.
  • Strong knowledge of other relevant Federal regulations impacting water resources.

_An employee in this Denver, CO - based position can expect a salary of $_60.00/hour to $75.00/hour. Actual pay within this range may depend on experience, qualifications, geographic location, client requirements where applicable, and other factors permitted by law.  Regular-status employees are also eligible for performance bonuses.
