Warehouse Clerk

🇺🇸 Pembroke Park, FL, US 📝 FULL-TIME

POSITION OVERVIEW
The Warehouse Clerk (WC) will perform general warehouse clerical duties including scheduling inbound loads, processing receipts, generating item cards and inventory codes, running reports, confirming orders, and filing paperwork. The position will also assist with physical inventory counts and general warehouse sanitation. This position requires expert-level comfort with a computer and technology, and accurate record-keeping.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Complete all assignments in accordance with food safety and handling regulations to ensure the integrity of products through proper inspection, handling, and storage procedures.
  • Accurately input data using various software/programs including the Microsoft Office suite.
  • Process receipts of inbound products, following protocol to inspect quality and quantity, and create unique codes for all new products.
  • Prepare various reports using a Warehouse Management System and Microsoft Excel.
  • Label all stock in accordance with inventory control procedures.
  • Ensure proper inspection, handling, storage, and distribution of all inventories in accordance with USDA, DOH, Safe Food Handling, OSHA, Feeding America (FA), and AIB.
  • Ensure consistent application of the “first-in first-out” rule as it relates to stocking and distribution of products, ensuring proper storage separation of food and non-food items.
  • Ensure proper stacking of all products, stock storage spaces, rearrange and restack products.
  • Inspect product to determine quality. Accurately record salvageable and unsalvageable inventory. Closely follow guidelines and controls regarding the Salvage Operation to help ensure its integrity.
  • Continuously check inventory for expiration dates, any signs of contamination, or other signs of unsafe distribution.
  • Assist with physical inventory of products.
  • Participate in the implementation of safety guidelines and Standards.
  • Consistently emphasize and practice the organization’s mission and values.
  • Assist management with additional tasks as assigned.

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS

  • High school Diploma
  • Proficient working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite, Outlook, and Excel experience required.
  • Basic Math, Reading, and Writing Skills
  • Effective organizational skills and ability to prioritize tasks.
  • Ability to follow directions and communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
  • Strong work ethic with the ability to work under extreme pressure, completing various assignments responsibly and in a timely manner.
  • Unwavering commitment to quality and excellence in organizational and project management with the ability to achieve goals.
  • Integrity, positive attitude, mission-driven and self-directed with a demonstrated passion for FSF’s mission and commitment to working collaboratively with management.
  • Strong analytical skills; basic business intuition and good judgment.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS & WORKING CONDITIONS

  • Hours of Operation: Although organization hours are Monday-Friday,10:00 a.m. – 7:00 p.m., this management position will work closer to 50-60 hours per week, especially during peak times such as holiday seasons, growing seasons, and disaster response. After-hours business work is required occasionally throughout the year.

  • Environment: This position works on the road visiting distributors and growers as well as in a typical office setting. There may be extended periods of sitting, standing, and/or bending; listening, talking, and/or visual concentration; writing and/or computer use. Occasional work will occur in the warehouse or outside in fields and warehouses in inclement weather. The noise in the work environment is usually moderate to loud.

  • Disaster Operations: In instances of a federal, state, or locally declared emergency, FSF is typically considered an essential service and emergency responder; all employees may be called in to perform regular or emergent duties.

  • Travel: FSF serves four counties so there is often same-day travel between the counties, using a personal vehicle, and occasional out-of-town travel for meetings, conferences, or special events. FSF offers reimbursable travel costs for covered expenses.

  • OSHA Standards: Lifting requirements are 50 pounds and when lifting loads heavier than 50 pounds, use two or more people to lift the load.
