The Role: VTS Associate Test Technologist

Who are you?

Reporting to the Advanced Process Development Engineer, as the VTS Associate Test Technologist, you will be responsible for producing essential data for process design and optimization, providing process parameters to meet client’s requests and FEED studies. You will also establish a library of process data and conditions to cover a wide range of operating conditions.

Required Skills and Qualifications

• You have a high school diploma, post-secondary, skilled trade, or equivalent experience, in engineering.
• You have 0-3 years of previous experience.
• You have the basic knowledge in engineering and Microsoft Office.
• You can follow quality guidelines to perform routine tasks.
• You have prior hands-on experience with lab/plant operations, basic maintenance, and/or process control.

Bonus Skills and Qualifications

• You have previous experience on pipe work/plumbing.
• You have knowledge regarding instrumentation.
• You are experienced with PSA/TSA (pressure / temperature swing adsorption).
• You demonstrate interpersonal skills, problem solving skills, and communication skills.
• You are mechanically inclined with equipment and repair.
• You demonstrate high level of initiative, attention to detail, and strong time management.

What Success looks like in this role

• You will safely operate the single bed test unit (VTS) including startup, shutdown, process tuning, and troubleshooting.
• You will monitor process data such as pressure, temperature, flowrate, and compositions.
• You will perform instrument calibration (mass spectrometer, flow controllers, flow meters), take gas samples.
• You will maintain a detailed log and records of each test daily.
• You will record any variances or issues during the test and inform team members/supervisors.
• You will carry out minor maintenance duties. Order and maintain an inventory of replacement parts as needed.
• You will identify, report, and resolve unsafe conditions, as well as execute corrective actions within the workspace.
• You will perform instrument lockouts and establish safe work permits.
