Greenpeace Romania is part of the regional office of Greenpeace Central and Eastern Europe (Greenpeace CEE) which consists of 8 national offices: Austria, Bulgaria, Croatia, Hungary, Poland, Romania, Slovakia and Slovenia.
THE ROLE
Greenpeace Romania is looking for a Volunteer/Activists Coordinator to recruit, train, and grow our base of amazing volunteers/activists. Greenpeace Romania’s volunteers/activists are at the heart of everything we do, and in this role, you’ll be working closely with them to meaningfully contribute to our campaigns, creative confrontation and investigations.
You will build strategies and programs to further engage our volunteers/activists and will make use of our supporter base’s incredible range of skills and commitment to help us achieve our campaign goals.
In this role you will work closely with the Action Coordinator, especially when organizing Non-Violent Direct Actions where activists/volunteers mobilization is needed, and you will be supervised by the Regional Head of Offline Engagement. You will also collaborate closely with the campaign team to ensure that volunteers and principles of mobilization are included accordingly into plans.
THE IDEAL CANDIDATE
We are looking for a passionate and experienced Volunteer Coordinator with an interest in tackling the climate crisis who will also have:
An interest in developing a network of skilled volunteers/activists, an ability to spot talent, nurture and build working relationships with a range of people will be important.
You value and embrace diversity and foster an open, trust based and inclusive collaboration
Excellent organisational and prioritisation skills
Project and event management experience;
Creative approach to problem solving and an ability to remain calm under pressure
Excellent verbal and written communication skills in both Romanian and English are essential to this role, as is the ability to convey complex information in a clear way.
Relevant experience and a genuine passion are essential.

Salary starts at 6500 LEI (gross) per month, it grows depending on relevant experience and competencies of the candidate;
