The position provides visitor services in the operation of Hoi Ha Visitor Centre (HHVC) and manages the daily operation of the reception counter and exhibition hall; co-ordinating land-based public eco-tours, and supporting centre-based workshops/activities.
Major Duties and Responsibilities:
Customer focused - Front of house
Provides day-to-day visitor services at the reception counter and exhibition hall.
Supports the development, delivery, and enrolment of centre-based educational workshops, exhibitions, and festive events for families, the general public, and community groups.
Handles inquiries and carries out customer feedback surveys.
Conducts land-based public guided eco-tours on Saturdays, Sundays, and public holidays.
Controls vehicular flow at Visitor Centre to facilitate the smooth flow of traffic and coach parking, ensures no unauthorised parking in or near the centre, and ensures the safety of visitors when using centre facilities.
In addition to Visitor Centre, provides assistance to other visitors of Hoi Ha Wan Marine Park.
Quality of service / Administrative - Back of house
Responsible for centre opening and closing, ensuring the premises are secure and safe.
Support the Centre Manager to assess health and safety and the cleanliness of premises.
Conducts inspection and arranges maintenance of equipment and exhibits of the HHVC with contractors.
Implements proper security measures for all activities delivered at and through HHVC, as well as all data collected through check front visitor enrolment system.
Implements visitors’ health and safety policy according to government standard
Required Functional Skills:
Possession of post-secondary education qualification, or equivalent, in natural science or other related subjects.
Good command of both Chinese and English, with Grade E/ Level 2 or above in Chinese Language and English Language (Syllabus B) in the Hong Kong Certificate of Education Examination, or Hong Kong Diploma of Secondary Education Examination (HKDSEE);
At least one year of experience in guiding nature education activities, customer service or counter inquiry service is an advantage.
Proficiency in Cantonese, English and Putonghua.
Possession of First Aid Certificate will be an advantage;
Proficiency in MS Office;
Possession of Photoshop, or Illustrator Skills is an advantage.
Physically fit for outdoor work;
Working during weekends and holidays will be required as per the working schedule;
Required Behavioural Skills:
The work location of this position is at the AFCD Hoi Ha Wan Marine Park Visitor Centre, Sai Kung. Daily Transportation is available on WWF vehicles from Ma On Shan.
