About the Position
The Virtual Program Manager (VPM) will provide overall programmatic support, recruitment, and management of day-to-day operations for Virtual Freedom School Literacy Academy (FSLA). Responsibilities include program management, coach development, and data oversight. The VPM will collaborate with the Managing Director of Instructional Programming and Managing Director of Program Strategy to recruit and implement virtual FSLA programming during the summer. The Program Manager will also develop engaging workshops to improve apprentice and coach development. This is a temporary position that ends shortly after summer programming.
Responsibilities include:
- Provide program oversight of day-to-day operations of Virtual Summer Freedom Schools Literacy Academy
- Lead train, and manage JSL and SLA coaches for Summer FSLA
- Ensure literacy curriculum is implemented with fidelity
- Ensure that the program stays on track to consistently meet the program’s enrichment and academic goals and objectives
- Ensure the collection of reports to track and assesses efforts to prove outcomes and accomplishments
- Manage Virtual Program Assistant
- Ensure participants have the necessary books, materials and supplies for daily activities
- Foster strong relationships and effective communication with participants, staff, and CBED leadership
- Enforce all program policies and procedures to ensure safety the of scholars, participants and staff, and compliance with government agencies
- Monitor attendance of scholars and parent communication
- Ensure that JSL programming and virtual Mbongi is held consistently with quality programming
- Support SLA and JSL coach with implementation of CBED coaching method
- Ensure all data/information from apprentices, coaches, and virtual program assistant are inputted in a timely manner
- Ensure all programmatic aspects adhere to organizational and site mission and values
- Manage the virtual FSLA calendar and schedule
- Oversee and develop virtual Parent engagement sessions
- Perform other duties as assigned
Background and experience expectations:
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field with at least three (3) years of Philadelphia Freedom Schools experience
- At least one (1) year of program or site coordinator experience
- Experience with utilizing Microsoft Suite, Zoom, Google Sheets, mail merge systems technology, data tracking systems and video editing software
- Strong people and project management ability, with the proven ability to influence and enhance cooperative working relationships within a team environment
