For this role, we are looking for applicants based in Kenya or South Africa.

The JobWe are looking for a strategic and experienced VP of Product to lead our product teams. This individual will directly manage two Product Directors, one focused on our platform and the other on Data teams, and will indirectly oversee seven Product Managers. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in Product Management, with experience working on impactful, tech-driven products, preferably within the digital health space or a strong understanding of how non-profits operate.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide strategic leadership for the product management function, setting a clear vision aligned with business objectives and ensuring product initiatives drive company growth.
• Develop and execute a cohesive product strategy, focusing on market demands, customer success, and competitive positioning.
• Manage and mentor product leaders, fostering a high-performing, collaborative team and developing talent within the product organisation.
• Oversee product roadmaps and ensure alignment with business priorities, technology strategies, and compliance with industry regulations.
• Act as the key interface for executive leadership and stakeholders, ensuring product initiatives align with broader business objectives.
• Lead cross-functional collaboration with tech, marketing, operations, and MERL teams to drive seamless execution of product initiatives.
• Define and monitor KPIs, making data-driven decisions to optimize product success and mitigate risks.
• Stay informed of industry trends, fostering a culture of innovation to ensure the product portfolio remains competitive and innovative.

About YouYou are passionate about creating social impact through technology and have a strong ability to balance strategic vision with day-to-day operational execution. With proven leadership and people management skills, you excel at mentoring and guiding senior product teams, driving them towards impactful and innovative outcomes.

Requeriments:

• 10+ years of experience in product management, with a strong track record of leading and mentoring senior product teams.
• Demonstrated ability to develop and execute product strategies that align with business goals and drive innovation.
• Proven experience leading cross-functional teams, ensuring alignment between various business departments.
• Expertise in managing and overseeing product roadmaps, balancing long-term business priorities with regulatory compliance and market needs.
• Deep understanding of industry regulations, privacy standards, and risk management strategies related to product development.
• Ability to communicate product vision and updates effectively across the organisation and act as a product evangelist both internally and externally.
• Experience leading and scaling product teams, preferably in an international or multi-cultural context.
• Experience working on impact-driven products, ideally in digital health or with a deep understanding of non-profits.
• Proficient in written and spoken English

At Tiko we believe in being open, also when it comes to salaries. The monthly gross salary bracket for this position is R143,647 - R239,400 in South Africa, and  Ksh855,780 - Ksh1,426,300 in Kenya, plus benefits. We will offer you a salary in this bracket depending on your level of experience and how it relates to your future colleagues.
