What you will be doing?
You will be delivering the Forward Trust’s Substance Dependency Treatment Programme (SDTP) which uses the 12 Step Approach in a prison based setting. The role is based at HMP Brixton and you will responsible for contributing to the success of the programme and supporting service users to make transformational change.
The role will require you to oversee the day to day delivery of the structured programme. As a senior member of the team you will be responsible for working closely with the Team Leaders to ensure the programme is being delivered in an effective manner, whilst providing supervision, training and guidance to members of the team.
In this role, you will:
- Take an active role in the implementation and achievement of team objectives.
- Develop supportive relationships with direct reports, team and other colleagues in HMP Brixton.
- Build strong relationships with, and makes full use of the support offered by, Line Management and Head Office functions.
- Communicate all new developments to all members of your team.
- Promote the SDTP programme to other prisons.
- Support the programme team to build and maintain productive relationships with external Forward Trust teams ensuring streamlined experience for service users and colleagues.
- Oversee and manage programme referrals and the assessment process ensuring they are completed correctly within allocated time frames.
- Use your extensive knowledge and experience to aid direct reports with their ability to develop and carry out interventions relevant to individual service user need including 1:1 sessions and group work/programme facilitation.
- Support the development of clear recovery pathways, including a 12 step programme.
This a 18 month fixed term contract
What we are looking for?
- Carry out assessments, designing and implementing SMART care plans.
- Effective negotiating and influencing skills.
- Understanding of 12 step approach.
- The ability to engage effectively with the service user group.
- Experience and knowledge of the range of psychosocial interventions including structured and intensive programme facilitation and how they benefit the service user group we work with.
- Level 2/3 Counselling qualification (or working towards)
- Quick thinking with a high level use of initiative
