Motor Laboratory Test Engineer

Being the largest manufacturer of motors in Sweden, Xylem design and manufacture motors adapted specially for use in our products. Most industries see a shift towards more efficient systems and high efficiency. A change from asynchronous motors to motors run with variable frequency is important in achieving this.

In our facility in Sundbyberg we have a modern lab where we can test motor and drive performance. To strengthen our motor group, we are now looking for a Motor Laboratory Test Engineer.

Besides working closely with other colleagues within the motor group, you will collaborate with other development teams like monitoring & control, hydraulics and mechanics.

Responsibilities

• Perform motor performance and heat test
• Test performance of motor and drive as a system
• Plan and prepare motors and drives for tests which may include preparation of prototypes, modifications and mounting of sensors or other special equipment
• Perform measurements using various instruments and data acquisition systems.
• Perform maintenance on test equipment and measurement instruments
• Develop and improve the test equipment and measurement instruments
• Document and report test results

When required you may also be involved in other tests on our products.

Qualifications

Suitable backgrounds for this role are measurement technician, electrician or similar roles related to measurements and testing. We believe you have experience in electrical installations and measurement systems.

You need to be practical and have experience in workshop machines.

Knowledge and experience of data acquisition programming is an advantage

Skills in English, both verbal and written, are essential to perform this work as part of a global company. Communication skills in Swedish are a plus.
