Job Summary
As an organization that convenes the fashion, textile, and apparel industry to collectively achieve climate reduction goals and holistic positive impacts across fiber and raw material production, creating a 360 view of how organizations are doing in their sustainability journey and establishing a platform to manage and share data on and between organizations is critical.
Textile Exchange is looking for an experienced and effective Technology Project Manager who wants to use their skillsets to make positive change. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in project management methodologies, a good understanding of technology systems, and a proven track record of successfully delivering complex cross-functional technology solutions on time and within budget. The candidate will manage the organization’s technology projects and ensure the successful and timely delivery of IT projects involving our customer relationship management system, geospatial information system, data reporting system, learning management, community engagement platform, traceability system and more.
The candidate must have strong engagement skills, be able to work with a wide range of internal users and external stakeholders to translate business needs into technical requirements and facilitate the development team to ensure effective and efficient project delivery.
Like all roles at Textile Exchange, the role will be home-based with some travel required. Candidates must be available to work across Asian, European and US time zones.
Duties and Responsibilities
Project Management:
- Lead and manage multiple technology projects from inception to completion, aligning with business objectives and ensuring delivery on time, within scope, and budget.
- Develop comprehensive project plans, including Project Initiation Documents (PIDs), Requests for Information (RFIs), Requests for Proposals (RFPs), timelines, milestones, risk assessments, and resource allocation.
- Facilitate cross-functional team collaboration, including developers, engineers, data scientists, and business stakeholders, to achieve project goals.
- Lead collaboration with business analysts to refine project requirements and develop plans.
- Oversee project progress, proactively identify risks and issues, and devise effective mitigation strategies.
- Manage project resources and budgets
- Build and maintain relationships with stakeholders to ensure project success.
- Lead projects reviews to capture organizational learning.
- Ensure smooth integration of project outputs into business operations.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of new project management methodologies/processes and support colleagues in adopting new practices.
- Manage the implementation, enhancements, and integration of systems such as Sage Intacct Financials, Salesforce Customer Relationship Management, ArcGIS Geospatial Information System, EdApp (Learning Management System), Microsoft Power BI, Azure Enterprise Data Warehouse (EDW), Azure Synapse, Microsoft Fabric, Databricks etc.
Software Development Projects:
- Project manage the end-to-end design, development, and implementation of software products and/or data pipelines, ensuring efficient and secure deployment of applications and services.
Collaboration and Communication
- Promote clear communication channels between business users and technical teams to drive project success.
- Own the project management tool and conduct user training for optimal organizational utilization.
- Coordinate project resources, including consultants and service providers, for data pipelines and IT developments.
Documentation and Reporting
- Maintain detailed records of all projects, customizations, and integrations.
- Produce and deliver regular progress reports and benefits realization updates to senior management and stakeholders.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Project Management qualification (PMP), Agile, or similar certification is a MUST.
- 5+ years of experience in IT project management with a proven track record of delivering complex cross-functional projects, preferably for cloud-based environments.
- 5+ years of experience in managing Azure infrastructure, data management, and integration-related projects.
- 2+ years of technical experience with the Azure or AWS platform.
- Strong technical background with experience in software development, IT infrastructure, or data management.
- In-depth knowledge of the Software Development Life-Cycle methodologies, along with integration processes.
- Strong organizational and analytical skills
- Experience with different project management methodologies (e.g. Agile, Waterfall) and ability to apply as appropriate.
- Experience in change management.
- Exceptional planning, prioritization, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency with cloud platforms like Azure and AWS, and enterprise systems such as Salesforce, GIS, Office 365, Entra ID, and Sage Finance System.
- Exceptional organizational, multitasking, problem-solving, and detail-oriented skills.
- Strong communication and leadership capabilities.
- Cloud certifications or equivalent experience are required.
Employment Package
- Reports to: Technology Director
- Full Time Position, 40 hours a week
- Location: Virtual/Remote
- Salary Range: 62,000 –94,000 USD per year, depending on experience.
- To be filled as soon as possible (start date to be agreed between both parties).
- Our offers for salary and benefits are dependent on the region of the final candidate. We post most positions based on a US-based Team member, but final offers are made in alignment with the final candidate's permanent residence and in line with Textile Exchange's regional employment package.
