Technology PMO Manager

About the opportunity

The Technology PMO Manager is responsible for overseeing the Technology Project Management Office (PMO) function at SWCA.

This leader is continuously improving the management framework and best practices of the Technology group's intake, organization, reporting, and execution of the technology project portfolio.  Highly engaged, passionate champion for the standards that go into balancing the scope, time, and cost of delivering projects for the organization.  Able to effectively manage the natural friction between Business Analysis role and Project Manager while delivering projects to stakeholders’ satisfaction.

What you will accomplish

  • Plan for and use resources efficiently, look for ways to optimize costs, create accurate and realistic budgets, track and adjust budgets, takes lead on budget planning and reporting for Technology team.
  • Actively and consistently support all efforts to simplify and enhance the employee’s experience with Technology services.
  • Lead and develop an agile and highly effective Technology Project Management team. Utilize effective team leadership skills to lead regular staff meetings, communicate corporate messages, project updates, and upcoming work to team members.
  • Collaborate across Technology team to develop and continuously improve processes related to project management and business analysis.
  • Seek input and feedback from stakeholders, peers and communicate proactively across those groups.
  • Coordinate communications plan for Technology team, gathering content from leaders and staff. Supports the CTO in presenting  the demands and progress of the Technology team to company management through reports, dashboards, presentations.
  • Assist with requirements analysis for the most complex project requests. Aid implementation teams with creating the most effective solutions for our internal clients.
  • Act as Lead Project Manager for the most complex projects, including ERP upgrades and similar.

Experience and qualifications for success

Qualified candidates will demonstrate an appropriate combination of the following additional competencies and skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Information Systems, Business Administration or related field required.
  • 10+ years related IT experience, 5 or more years’ experience leading technology projects, and preparing business cases and budgets,
  • Experience in leading process-based teams including project portfolio management required.
  • PMP certification preferred; PBA certification or training also preferred.
  • Experience implementing processes and KPIs, setting team goals, and monitoring for continuous process improvement.
  • Ability to lead a team and resolve issues that arise in an efficient and diplomatic manner.
  • Regular travel to offices to meet with managers, team members and stakeholders.
  • Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.

An employee in this Phoenix, AZ-based position can expect a salary of $93,600-$122,720_/year. Actual pay within this range may depend on experience, qualifications, geographic location, client requirements where applicable, and other factors permitted by law._  Regular-status employees are also eligible for performance bonuses.
