The Oversight Board makes binding and independent decisions about the most challenging content issues on Facebook and Instagram. Members of the Board include Helle Thorning-Schmidt, former Prime Minister of Denmark, Tawakkol Karman, Nobel Peace Prize winner, Michael McConnell, Director of Stanford’s Constitutional Law Center, and many other diverse leaders and thinkers from around the world. The Board issued its first decisions in January 2021.

The Oversight Board Administration is the team of full-time staff who support Board Members in carrying out their duties. The Administration has a presence in London, San Francisco and Washington, D.C., and operates with a global scope.

The Role

As a key member of the Technology Team, the Technology Engineer will work diligently to provide human centric customer experience to all our organisation. Reporting to the Director of Technology, the Technology Engineer will diagnose and resolve network Infrastructure, MS Azure & enterprise tooling issues. The Technology Engineer will be required to work on both tactical and strategic projects working closely with other areas of the Technology Team.

The Technology Engineer responsibilities include resolving network issues, including Zscaler support, managing security vulnerabilities, managing user accounts and privileges as well as managing all Enterprise tooling (SAAS) requirements. The post holder will be responsible for security vulnerability management, testing & deployment of patches, supporting technical projects & provide technical guidance & support to other team members.

The post holder will be:

• Working as part of the Technology Team, to be responsible for day to day support for Technology services.
• Responding to requests for help from end users and other members of our team.
• Setting up and installing new computers, networks and software.
• Setting up user accounts and profiles.
• Onboarding and Offboarding of members of the OSB.
• Installing updates to software applications and systems.
• Installing and configuring operating systems, anti-virus software and other applications such as Microsoft Office.
• Diagnosing and fixing network problems, hardware or software faults.
• Maintaining inventories of hardware and software.
• Keeping a record of issues and faults along with solutions, for future reference.
• Providing user training and developing support guides.
• Continuous development and improvement for all process, technologies and solutions.
• Working on tactical and strategic projects.
• Occasionally work flexible hours to ensure users have the support required and for the delivery of strategic projects.

This role will be based  on the east coast of the US and with the primary office being in the Administration’s location of Washington, DC.

• Amazon Web Services admin including EC2 and S3

• Vulnerability and Security management

• Good working knowledge of Virtual desktop environments

• HubSpot cloud – administration

• System Administration in Microsoft Stack (Azure AD, Endpoint MDM, Exchange, SharePoint)

• PowerShell / Linux scripting

• Windows and Apple macOS, iPad/iPhones

• Tableau cloud admin

• Laptop and iPhone builds and troubleshooting
