Role Overview:
The Technical Service Engineer – South East Asia is responsible for providing technical support, installation, training, and troubleshooting of GrainPro products across Southeast Asia. The role involves field work, customer support, sales (if applicable), and collaboration with innovation and sales teams to ensure customer satisfaction and product improvements. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in postharvest or food processing industries, a passion for customer service, and the ability to travel across the region.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Responsible for handling and monitoring field/trial/demonstration/beta testing installations, training, and troubleshooting of products, and equipment.
• Responsible for ensuring proper installation and training of end-users on operating the principles of GrainPro products, monitoring, maintenance, repair, and other services required by customers
• Provide pre-sales technical assistance, act as a technical consultant to customers, provide pre-sales assistance to solve product-related inquiries, and help select the right solutions for customer needs.
• Provide support in conducting field research and improving field installation practices.
• Provide support to marketing-related activities by attending trade shows, conferences, and other agricultural events.
• Provide assistance in developing training modules, presentations, trial protocols, and other training materials.
• Provide assistance in revisions of product manuals, user-guides, installation videos, and electronic library.
• Communicate customer needs and product performance feedback to the engineering department, identifying areas for product modification or improvement.
• Gather feedback from trainees, customers, and distributors based on field experiences, ensuring insights are used for continuous product and service improvement.
• Work as a sales representative if applicable to support sales activities and client meetings as needed.
• Monthly report to the Technical Manager on pre- and after-sales activities in the Southeast Asia region, tracking progress, challenges, and solutions provided.
• Ensures that work performed conforms to the quality standard set by GrainPro and must be aware of
Key Qualifications
Educational Background: Bachelor's degree in Agricultural Engineering, Food Processing, or any Agriculture-related field.
Relevant Experience:
• Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in postharvest and/or food processing industries, including hands-on technical support, troubleshooting, and customer service.
• Proven experience in pre-and-after-sales service, with the ability to build and maintain long-term relationships with clients.
• Strong ability to solve technical issues efficiently and provide timely solutions to customers.
• Experience in field research, trial testing, and product feedback collection.
• Practical knowledge of CAD software is a plus.
Communication Skills:
• Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical customers (e.g., farmers, operators).
• Proficient in English, with proficiency in additional Southeast Asian languages such as Bahasa Malaysia and/or Indonesia considered an advantage.
Travel Readiness: Ability to work in the field independently and readiness to travel in Southeast Asia and the Pacific to provide on-the-ground support.

• Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced, client facing role.
• Must have a valid driver’s license and passport for travel purposes.
