Local Unit & Position Description
Due to growth, DNV Business Assurance Group is seeking a Technical Approval (TA) Officer to join our Global Technical HUB (GTH) team in India.
DNV - Business Assurance Global Technical HUB (GTH), part of Global Operations & Technical, is responsible for managing global accreditation and compliance governance in an efficient and cost-effective manner.
The Technical Approvers in the GTH are part of a global MSC technical team and work closely with the technical, sales and operations departments of the market units’ worldwide.
The function reports to the Team Manager.
The main objective of the TA Officer is to understand the relevant requirements of e.g. ISO 17021 and related IAF MD documents in order to provide correct technical approval results and to contribute to the technical support activities carried out by the GTH.
Key responsibilities include:
- Reviewing and reporting on the quality of certification work delivered by DNV Business Assurance market units worldwide and actively contributing to maintaining the quality level achieved. The work includes all types of technical review work and decisions relating to competence, proposals, auditor reporting, project sampling, certification and other tasks necessary to ensure compliance;
- Taking a pragmatic approach to reviews and provide constructive/business oriented follow-up to market units;
- Support market units in the most efficient and effective way to achieve their quality and business objectives and maintain acceptance by our global accreditation bodies and/or standard owners;
- Effective communication with market units taking a proactive role in resolving issues;
- Maintaining a production focused approach by monitoring production volumes on a daily basis and adapting to the daily production needs;
- Supporting Management in resolving internal/external (e.g. accreditation body) audit findings and support other tasks necessary to ensure compliance;
- Maintaining own auditor qualifications through audits;
- Ensure that the independent nature of DNV Business Assurance is never compromised.
Position Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience required;
- 4 years work experience in a relevant (management) function;
- Knowledge of Management System Certification (MSC);
- Knowledge of accreditation standards (at least ISO 17021);
- knowledgeable of Root Cause and Corrective Action Processes
- Knowledge of at least 3 MSC standards (ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001);
- Completed LA training with certificate in each of the above standards;
- Have maintained at least 2 LA qualifications by conducting the required number of audits on an annual basis;
- Capable of reviewing audit results with a single and a combination of certification standards;
- An enthusiastic user of new IT tools & media;
- Excellent interpersonal and verbal/written communication skills in English are essential.
