Our contract vehicles support FEMA’s efforts to provide temporary housing to survivors of major disasters across the United States and its territories. Dewberry is currently searching for a Task Manager to join our team. In this role, you will assist with task order management activities including leading teams of staff mobilized to disaster recovery operations across the United States and its territories in support of temporary housing missions.

The Task Manager will travel to assigned field operations to manage the dynamic daily activities of deployed team members assisting FEMA with the identification and implementation of temporary housing solutions. The ideal candidate for this position has a background in residential construction (single-family and multi-family) and prior experience supporting Federal, State and Local entities with disaster recovery, specifically FEMA’s Individual Assistance Direct Housing program. Technical experience should include task management, site planning and development, and residential and/or commercial construction. The role requires strong organizational and written communication skill, and the ability to communicate effectively with team members and our client representatives.
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Architecture, Construction, or related field (equivalent work experience may be considered in lieu of degree, if applicable)
Minimum of ten (10) years of professional experience including five (5) years of project management experience
Strong leadership skills managing teams of professionals and technicians
Proven record of successful execution of complex projects
Knowledge and experience with infrastructure design and assessments, residential development and construction, quality assurance, construction cost estimating, and scheduling
Knowledge of FEMA disaster recovery programs including the Direct Housing program, preferred
Excellent verbal, people, and written communication skills
Must be computer literate and proficient with Microsoft Office Suite applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook)
Must be able to deploy to an alternate work location for up to twelve (12) months working in excess of 50 hours per week
Must be a U.S. Citizen and able to successfully pass a pre-employment background investigation to include criminal, financial and driver’s history.
Ability to obtain a Public Trust Clearance as required by federal contract
Must have a clean driving record and able to maintain a valid driver’s license in order to operate a company, personal, or rental vehicle
