Systems Administrator

🇺🇸 Minneapolis, MN, US 📝 FULL-TIME

Overview

The Systems Administrator is responsible for support of Ampact’s business applications, staff hardware, member access to Ampact solutions, and its managed services partners. This position will take an active role in ensuring proper resolution of hardware and software issues, as required, to provide high level service to our staff and members. This role will also be responsible for developing technology related training content to provide members and staff the knowledge needed to use our tools and systems in the most effective way.

Responsibilities

Provide technology and equipment support to RMI Staff:

  • Responsible for Microsoft 365 administration, optimization, and support
  • Continuous support of Microsoft SharePoint Online, Teams, and OneDrive
  • Coordinate and provide oversight to third party vendors involved in supplying devices and providing technical support to Ampact staff and members. Coordinate with managed services providers to evaluate, configure and maintain devices, hardware, operating systems, and associated services as needed by staff
  • Act as an escalation resource for all technology support
  • Ensure data security and tracking of assets

Coordinate workflow process improvement initiatives:

  • Work with internal departments to increase workflow efficiencies
  • Proactively make suggestions that support RMI’s mission and that streamline process
  • Work with project management to establish standardized methodologies

Manage RMI ticketing system and external managed services providers and partners:

  • Responsible for maintaining and support SolarWinds Service Desk
  • Provide continuous improvement and processes to maximize IT service to Ampact and members
  • Act as primary contact for all external technology services partners. Ensure each vendor is properly servicing Ampact and manage the relationships moving forward

Provide support and coordination of Ampact internal software and hardware for both staff and members:

  • Develop plans, schedules, and requirements for the deployment of equipment to members
  • Provide management with recommendations for improvement
  • Work with the department within RMI and ensure continuous innovation and improvement

Continuous Improvement

  • Provide thoughts and opinions about Ampact’s technology solutions and positively influence the organization by leveraging technology to increase operational efficiency
  • Enroll in and complete training that is related to the role
  • Research, analyze, and report on potential technology solutions
  • Maintain adequate administration skills for RMI IT/IS solutions (e.g., M365, Absorb, SolarWinds, etc.)

Qualifications

Minimum Education

  • Bachelor’s degree or related work experience

Minimum Experience

  • Minimum two years of experience in Microsoft 365 administration and support

  • Including Exchange Online, Azure AD, Teams, OneDrive, SharePoint, and more

  • Minimum two years of experience providing help desk and desktop support services

  • Ability and desire to provide strategic and tactical suggestions for improving Ampact’s business processes by leveraging technology

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills include ability to write clear training manuals and documentation, ability to listen to understand individual and collective needs within the organization

  • Ability to communicate to non-technical users in a proactive professional way

  • Ability to work independently

  • Demonstrates accuracy, attention to detail and monitors own work to ensure quality

  • Adapts to changes in the work environment, manages competing demands and can deal with frequent change, delays, or unexpected events

  • Ability to prioritize and perform multiple tasks simultaneously

  • Other experiences preferred: Microsoft Office, Google Workspace management, database administration, and technology architecture and design

  • Travel locally and statewide as needed to attend meetings

  • Communicate effectively with people/groups in multiple settings within and outside the organization
