The Sustainability Manager - Climate & Energy directly contributes to the ambition of the Group to become a net zero company by ensuring that the Group lives its values and ambitions of building progress for people and the planet.
This includes following challenges and key objectives:
- Provide strategic insights to the climate and energy agenda
- Coordinate Group key stakeholders efforts towards climate and energy performance
- Manage CO2 performance and transparency standards and support their enforcement
- Support the development and implementation of Climate and Energy roadmaps
The Sustainability Manager - Climate & Energy supports the efforts of the Group to progress on our net-zero journey, through the following activities:
- Supports the Head of Climate & Energy to develop climate and energy strategies to reduce carbon emissions, energy consumption and costs. Researches and monitors trends and innovations in climate and energy
- Coordinates internal networks through regular updates with climate experts, ensuring knowledge sharing and capacity building
- Defines and coordinates relevant Group wide sustainability initiatives to be implemented. Monitors the effectiveness of climate related projects and makes recommendations on focus areas to address
- Develops and implements climate and energy performance measurements on a regular basis. Monitors and assesses performance data and supports ad hoc climate related items. Provides technical support and cross-functional guidance, and prepares performance management meetings and reports
- Supports the submission of carbon data disclosure and liaises with investors and climate related sections or rating indices (such as DJSI, CDP, FTSE4Good) to ensure robust assessment, inclusion and leadership. As part of a cross disciplinary structure, liaises, validates and monitors performance on climate related topics with countries in the organization
- Participates in R&D Climate Related Projects project as stakeholder
Education/Qualifications
- Master Degree or Equivalent in Sciences or Engineering
Experience
- 10+ years experience, preferably in related fields of strategy, climate and/or energy management. Operational experience is a must.
- Excellent track record of leading large complex projects and programs and interconnected workstreams
- Experience to engage with external stakeholders
Knowledge & Skills
- Detailed understanding of climate and energy technical aspects in an industrial context: related performance processes and carbon emissions methodologies, including thorough understanding of decarbonisation methodologies and science based targets
- Strong data analytics skills, accuracy and rigor in computing and analyzing data from multiple sources (using Excel, Google sheet computing tools) and ability to propose actions to be taken based on results
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, ability to design and deliver presentations to senior management and external audiences
- Strong ability to influence and to convince, as well as active listening skills and empathy
- Ability to work in multinational matrix environment, adapting to cultural differences, and to work in network and horizontal relationships
- Strong Project management capabilities, Business Process design and management, as well as ability to drive various initiatives and programs parallel
Language Requirements
English – fluent (spoken and written). Any additional language skills would be an advantage (i.e. German, French, Spanish).
