ABOUT THE POSITION
Our Williamsburg, VA office has an opening for a Geomatics /Survey Project Manager. The Geomatics Project Manager will be responsible for planning, organizing, and managing all Geomatics activities as they relate to Survey Engineering, Geographic Information Systems, or Reality Capture. Skills and Attributes
- Manages projects, project staff, and clients.
- You will be involved in establishing budgets and schedules for new projects.
- Coordinates work of data collection crews, GIS analysts, and survey data/CAD technicians including the direction and monitoring of layout services.
- Researches previous survey evidence, maps, deeds, physical evidence, and other records to obtain data needed for surveys. Delineates boundaries and reference points.
- Reviews and certifies work that staff has completed with a high-level of precision and accuracy.
- Keeps accurate notes, records, and sketches to describe and certify work performed. Capable of assuming legal responsibility for work, as required.
- Coordinates delivery of geomatics product to internal/external clients and other relevant stakeholders.
- Develops appropriate reports and applications, where required, for the geomatics project (e.g., boundary analysis report, rights review, quality of data analysis).
- Performs all job functions in compliance with applicable federal, state, and local regulations and company policies and procedures.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of geomatics experience, including some experience managing projects
- 2 years of fiscal/contract management experience
- High school diploma or GED
- Degree in Survey Engineering, Geomatics, Geographic Information Systems, Engineering, or
related field preferred
- Professional Land Surveyor license preferred
- Extensive experience using industry standard software for data collection, processing,
management, and drafting
