The Role: Supplier Quality Engineer
To support us in achieving our ambitious growth objectives, we are seeking a meticulous Supplier Quality Engineer to secure the best raw materials, parts, and sub-assemblies for products so we can build to top standards. Reporting to the Director, Enterprise Quality, you will be pivotal for delivering all aspects of the Supplier Quality Assurance function and develop and implement best practices that emphasize defect prevention, reduction in variation and provide for continuous improvements in meeting all customer requirements.
The Supplier Quality Engineer role focuses on conducting quality oversight of suppliers during all product development processes. This person will support Supplier Development, Purchasing, Quality, Engineering, R&D and Manufacturing departments. Activities include reviewing BOMs (Bill of Materials), determining incoming quality and reliability requirements, reviewing engineering and manufacturing specifications, monitoring materials for any defects, and resolving supplier quality issues. To be successful as a Supplier Quality Engineer, you will demonstrate excellent analytical and technical capabilities to communicate effectively with design/engineering groups. You will exhibit good interpersonal skills in order to develop relationships with suppliers. You possess problem-solving skills with an eye for supply quality control.
