The Century Foundation’s Summer Scholars is an internship program designed to foster skill sets in order to excel in the public policy sector. Scholars will build important skills, add to their portfolios, meet interesting people, and hopefully even have some fun. The program is a hybrid, eight-week, full-time position, running from Monday, June 12 through Friday, August 4. For more information on the program, visit tcf.org/SummerScholars.
THE JOB
The PreK–12 Education Policy Scholar will work on projects that study and uplift the importance of diversity, justice, and equity in public schools. You will assist with projects addressing racial and socioeconomic integration strategies in PK–12 education, including work engaging with TCF’s Bridges Collaborative, as well as projects addressing the needs of English learners. You will present this content in a variety of forms, possibly including case studies, fact sheets, and interviews with students, teachers, and families. You should be able to look at education issues through an intersectional lens, recognizing the importance of elevating the experiences of low-income students, LGBTQ students, English learners, and students of color.
