The Century Foundation’s Summer Scholars is an internship program designed to foster skill sets in order to excel in the public policy sector. Scholars will build important skills, add to their portfolios, meet interesting people, and hopefully even have some fun. The program is a hybrid, eight-week, full-time position, running from Monday, June 12 through Friday, August 4. For more information on the program, visit tcf.org/SummerScholars.
THE JOB
The Higher Education Scholar will work on projects that promote equity, access, and quality in higher education. You will assist in documenting the ways that disadvantaged students are not served well by the laws that shape the current higher education system. This may include regulations on predatory for-profit colleges and their accreditors, government support for HBCUs and community colleges, students’ basic needs, and above all, connections between higher education policies and racial and socioeconomic inequality. Applicants with advanced degrees or specialized skills would receive assignments that reflect those capacities. You will assist in data analysis, background research, and writing for diverse audiences, and work on projects that align with your personal areas of interest.
