The Century Foundation’s Summer Scholars is an internship program designed to foster skill sets in order to excel in the public policy sector. Scholars will build important skills, add to their portfolios, meet interesting people, and hopefully even have some fun. The program is a hybrid, eight-week, full-time position, running from Monday, June 12 through Friday, August 4. For more information on the program, visit tcf.org/SummerScholars.
The Economy and Workforce Development Scholar will work on projects that promote equity, inclusion, and culturally competent approaches in workforce development and higher education. You will assist in managing the Industry and Inclusion Cohort, a national learning network of twelve community colleges pursuing racial equity in their credentialing programs, specifically manufacturing. This may include interviewing and assisting in writing profiles on the success stories of cohort members, participating in virtual industry roundtables elevating industry and community engagement with cohort members, and if time permits, touring a manufacturing site that partners with TCF in the greater New York or Washington, D.C. region. You will also participate in the monthly cohort meetings with topics including inclusive classrooms and diversity, equity, and inclusion in employer engagement. You will work on projects that align with your personal interests in inclusive workforce development and documenting how community colleges can best serve, recruit, and retain students of color in manufacturing and STEM programs.
Please apply with a resume, cover letter, and two writing examples via BambooHR. To be considered, apply by March 6, 2023. If you have any questions, email email@example.com.
