Summer 2024 Junior Technical Support Internship

Earthjustice’s IT team is accepting applications for one part- or full-time junior technical support intern to work with us for 10-12 weeks during summer 2024. We will accept applications from students who will have completed their first year at a technical college, community college, or 4-year undergraduate program by June 2024. This is a paid position. The successful candidate may work a hybrid schedule from our San Francisco, CA office or remotely during west coast hours.

The IT team supports the 550+ staff who work across the nation. The junior technical support intern will provide software and hardware support to our staff and assist with tasks related to onboarding new hires, implementing changes for current staff, and offboarding departing staff. This will be an opportunity to develop technical, customer support skills relevant to a mission-driven, non-profit organization of this size and scale.

Responsibilities:

Under the supervision of the Director, IT Service Delivery, the intern will:

  • Provide technical support for Earthjustice staff.
  • Document the issues, steps taken to resolve them, and issue resolutions within the IT ticket system.
  • Deliver exceptional customer service by effectively communicating with staff and ensuring that their IT needs are met in a timely and courteous manner.
  • Take on assigned tasks related to the onboarding and offboarding of staff.
  • Take on assigned tasks related to implementing changes to staff’s information.
  • Assist with the coordination, shipping, and retrieval of equipment.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Must be enrolled in an accredited technical training program or college during summer 2024. Those who have completed their first year by June 2024 will be prioritized.
  • Must be available to work at least 20 hours/week.
  • Proficient in Office 365 and Mac OS.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Detail oriented with good organizational skills.
  • Ability to apply strong strategic, analytical, and creative thinking to solve problems.
  • Awareness and sensitivity to the needs and concerns of individuals from diverse cultures, backgrounds, and orientations.

Compensation:

Internships at Earthjustice are paid. Undergraduate students will receive $18.07/hour, less applicable taxes.
