About the opportunity
SWCA is looking for a Sustainability Specialist to join our growing Sustainability Division. This position will help develop and drive implementation of SWCA’s internal sustainability program. This position will also help ensure SWCA is positioned for and responsive to the growing expectations among internal and external stakeholders for transparent reporting on our sustainability initiatives.
What you will accomplish
- Conduct internal and external sustainability research.
- Work with the Environmental Sustainability Committee to develop and maintain various operational sustainability programs focused on environmental initiatives.
- Green Team coordination
- Help develop and maintain other companywide sustainability programs such as Supplier Diversity.
- Collect, organize, and report on sustainability data.
- Track and maintain the rating systems.
- Help lead and manage day-to-day projects and activities supporting sustainability reporting.
- Manage, influence, and build support for sustainability efforts.
- Take a lead role in writing and producing the company’s annual sustainability report.
- Build working relationships with key partners across the firm and businesses including the functional support areas such as safety, inclusion and diversity, operations, human resources for reporting purposes.
- Implement and maintain a process to track and report on key metrics around SWCA’s sustainability strategy and business goals to ensure the value and progress is transparent to internal and external stakeholders.
- Work on special projects.
- Gain the confidence and trust of others through honesty, integrity, and authenticity.
Experience and qualifications for success
Minimum Qualifications
- Undergraduate degree in Business, Sustainability, or related discipline.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong execution skills, with ability to work independently while pursuing organizational and team goals
- Track record of collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to deliver effective client-centric solutions.
- Attention to detail, and ability to work with minimal supervision.
- Experience leading teams
- Flexibility with changing work priorities.
- Strong planning, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- A professional and positive demeanor.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Sustainability or related discipline.
- 1-2 years experience working with Sustainability programs and initiatives.
- Experience in a professional services firm.

An employee in this Denver office-based position can expect an a yearly salary of $55,000- 65,00/year. Actual pay within this range may depend on experience, qualifications, geographic location, client requirements where applicable, and other factors permitted by law. Regular-status employees are also eligible for performance bonuses.
