The Oversight Board
The Oversight Board is a new body that makes binding and independent decisions about the most challenging content issues on Facebook and Instagram. The first members of the Board were announced in May 2020 and include Helle Thorning-Schmidt, former Prime Minister of Denmark, Tawakkol Karman, Nobel Peace Prize winner, Michael McConnell, Director of Stanford’s Constitutional Law Center, and many other diverse leaders and thinkers from around the world. The Board began accepting cases in October 2020.
The Oversight Board Administration is the team of full-time staff who support Board Members in carrying out their duties. The Administration has a presence in London, San Francisco and Washington, D.C., and operates with a global scope.

Role
Joining the Oversight Board Administration is a chance to be part of an organization that will operate with the soul and pace of a startup but have a global impact from day one – leading on some of the most prominent and challenging issues facing the tech industry and society.
The Staff Accountant will support the Finance Team, reporting to the Deputy CFO to identify finance and accounting priorities for the UK and US Oversight Board entities. The Finance team will lead strategic finance implication considerations in the growth and operations of the Oversight Board. The successful candidate will leverage prior accounting knowledge and experience to manage, in collaboration with colleagues, a wide range of finance operations across the organization. This will include supporting core accounting processes, including both day-to-day and cyclical activities, such as financial accounting, supplier payments and US tax activities.
This role will be based at the Administration's US location in Washington D.C. Oversight Board offers flexible hybrid remote working, so we welcome applications for those based across East Coast US states, to allow for collaboration of time zone.
