Accion’s Resource Development department has a solid track record of creative partnerships, strategic fundraising and proven results. We work across a broad base of corporate and private foundation partners including Mastercard, Credit Suisse, FMO, Bill and Melinda Gates, MetLife, and Citi Foundations. In addition, we work with individual impact investors, philanthropic donors and the public sector to carry out our important and increasingly urgent mission. Position Summary

The Sr Specialist, Salesforce Database reports to the VP of Philanthropic Strategy and Insights and will lead the ongoing development of our Salesforce Nonprofit Success Pack (NPSP) deployment within the Resource Development team. This role is an opportunity for a mission-driven individual with a minimum of three years’ experience as a database/CRM admin in a non-profit fundraising environment, with at least one year of experience with Salesforce NPSP. The Database Specialist will streamline existing processes and harness data insights to make data-driven decisions that increase the organization’s fundraising efficiency and support from individuals and institutions alike.

In this role, you will work closely with the Resource Development team to maintain the information and reporting systems in the Salesforce database. You will coordinate with vendors regarding gift processing, website integration, cryptocurrency donations, corporate matching gifts, and donor-advised fund contributions. You will provide essential support for dashboard buildout, data insights, monthly/quarterly reconciliations, and documentation of procedures and other projects as needed. As part of this work, you will collaborate internally across the Technology, Finance, Communications and program teams. This position is essential to the daily functioning of the department, for campaign and results analyses, and strategic planning.

Position Responsibilities

Systems Oversight and Development

• Provide overall management, maintenance and ensure proper functioning of Resource Development’s Salesforce database, safeguarding the integrity and quality of data
• Own data management processes, including mass export/import/update, de-duplication and record merging, field and functionality creation and maintenance, and advanced report and dashboard development
• Provide oversight of connected Resource Development software, ensuring that data is imported and exported between databases
• Provide training to and support the Resource Development team; disseminate relevant information regarding software upgrades and coding changes
• Create, manage, and update all reports and dashboards for team members in the department
• Liaise with third-party gift processing vendor for retail individual donors including training, troubleshooting, and process decisions
• Work closely with the Finance and program teams to ensure accuracy and data integrity for monthly reconciliations between Resource Development and Finance

Data Insights

• Work closely with the VP of Philanthropic Strategy and Insights to leverage data visualization tools such as Power BI and Tableau to identify donor trends and patterns
• Provide insights on donor appeal campaigns, the major donor pipeline, and corporate/foundation giving
• Create graphs and charts of data insights to support on strategic planning and presentations
• Have a genuine interest in visual analytics and openness to learn new tools in an everchanging space

Position Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent education and experience
• Prior experience with global NGO and/or private sector organization in social impact space
• 3 years of experience in a donor CRM operations, including 1 year as a Salesforce admin, ideally using NPSP in a fundraising environment
• Salesforce Administrator certification a plus
• Deep comfort and fluency with other systems such as SharePoint, Microsoft Excel, and data visualization tools such as Power BI and Tableau
• Strong organizational, time management and prioritization skills
• Ability to manage multiple projects while working in a fast-paced environment with key internal stakeholders across Resource Development and the organization
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
