The primary responsibility of the Product Line Leader - Waukesha 275GL+ is to provide the strategic direction and cross-functional leadership for the Waukesha 275+ GL product line as product manager.
Essential Responsibilities
As the Product Line Leader - Waukesha 275GL+, you will:
- Establish the vision and strategic plan for the Waukesha 275GL+ product line
- Lead a cross-functional organization which includes marketing, sales, operations, engineering, and services teams
- Be accountable for compliance with quality systems and regulatory requirements, and commercial change process
- Demonstrate customer focus by communicating and building rapport with customers and ensuring the “voice of the customer” is reflected in product development programs and business processes
- Be an enthusiastic advocate for the product, presenting to customers and industry groups
- Represent the product at trade shows and with media
- Participate in winning large deals
- Provide sales training, and generate enthusiasm for the product
- Define and lead appropriate market segmentation, competitor strategies and positioning strategies for the assigned product line & business segments with a focus on driving disruptive and differentiating propositions
- Provide robust underpinning for a structured and value based product & pricing approach
- Drive the product portfolio to meet the needs of the market
- Develop product roadmap for technology and business strategic planning
- Be responsible for cross-functional execution of the product roadmaps and New Product Introductions (NPI)
- Define Product Models and Structures
- Identify offerings items & structures
- Form strong working relationships with Regions and other internal GE partner organizations to develop deep understanding of relevant market trends that supports Regional pursuit of their market strategies
- Have key focus on increasing product & portfolio competitiveness, focusing on cost out including should cost and design-to-cost
- Drive operating mechanisms to ensure execution is consistent with integrity, quality systems, and EHS requirements
- Manage key business product line performance indicators such as financial, quality and customer satisfaction
- Visibly participate in and take leadership opportunities as part of relevant industry groups
- Develop, execute, and motivate others on strategies, tactics, measurements, and operating mechanisms to deliver business results
- Improve customer loyalty and net promoter score
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree from an accredited university or college in Business or Engineering
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in the power generation industry
- Minimum of 5 years of progressive engineering, business or commercial experience
- Legal authorization to work in the U.S is required, without the need for future sponsorship.
Desired Characteristics
- Master's Degree in Business Administration
- Experience as Program or Project Leader in the large reciprocating engine segment both technically and commercially
- Has demonstrated clear thinking as evidenced by the ability to sift through complex information and focus on the critical priorities and able to translate strategy into business objectives with clear accountability
- Has demonstrated decisiveness as evidenced by the ability to make decisions with speed and accuracy
- Is adaptable and open to change in response to unexpected circumstances and or in working in ambiguous situations
- Clear & motivating communicator both vertically and horizontally across the organization. Has a proven ability to accept constructive criticism and can calmly and effectively deal with high stress situations
- Has proven ability to anticipate customer needs and ensures they are met
- Demonstrated ability to lead by vision & influence in a matrixed organization, and driven employee engagement and focus across global locations in virtual teams
