Organisational Context

ChildFund’s Sport for Development programs provide children with opportunities to play, learn and grow.

Using integrated sport and life skills learning, young people from vulnerable communities are equipped to overcome challenges, inspire positive social change and take active leadership roles within their communities.

Under ChildFund Australia’s guidance, all Sport for Development programs contribute to achieving gender equality, reducing inequality, and ending violence against children, reflecting targets within the UN Sustainable Development Goals.

Participants also develop critical social and emotional skills which help them to achieve personal goals, build empathy, manage emotions, develop positive relationships, and make responsible decisions.

ChildFund is recognised as a Pioneer Organisation within the International Safeguards for Children in Sport, which ensure that children are physically and emotionally safe across sport. Work is undertaken with sports partners around the globe to ensure that the safeguarding of children and vulnerable adults in sport is a priority.

ChildFund Australia implements programs with a range of partners in Cambodia, Laos, Philippines, Myanmar, Papua New Guinea, Timor-Leste, Vietnam, and other Pacific nations, and manages projects delivered by partner organisations throughout Asia, Africa and the Americas. ChildFund’s work is funded through child and community sponsorship, government grants as well as donations from individuals, trusts and foundations, and corporates.

ChildFund Australia is a member of the ChildFund Alliance – a global network of 12 organisations which assists more than 23 million children and families in over 70 countries. ChildFund Australia is a registered charity, a member of the Australian Council for International Development, and fully accredited by the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade which manages the Australian Government’s overseas aid program.

SoW

As the Sport for Development (S4D) Partnership Services Administrator - Vietnam, you support registered sport bodies in Vietnam to execute on Sport for Development programming and commitments and will: i) provide administrative and operational service coordination for partners to be able to execute on program commitments; (ii) maintain a strong, supportive and productive environment for partnerships that extends to partner staff and Coaches; (iii) ensure strong relationships with key stakeholders, including government, donors and ChildFund officers/departments.

Key Duties

Service Coordination

  • Support partners to implement strong projects including project management and measuring change, in-line with approved projects and curriculum protocols and requirements;
  • Provide Administration Support to partners to maintain day to day activity and budget oversight including reporting and specific support for project cycle management;
  • Ensure ChildFund Rugby services are coordinated and delivered in a timely and relevant way for partners;
  • Ensure project management platforms are up to date and all project progresses are accurately recorded;
  • Ensure project reporting and donor management requirements are met including narrative reports and financial reports.

Partnership Support

  • Manage partnerships in-line with ChildFund commitments;
  • Ensure appropriate evidence is captured to demonstrate commitments in action.

Stakeholder Management

  • Maintain strong and productive relationships with stakeholders including key ChildFund staff;
  • Maintain frequent, high-quality and transparent communications with the S4D team.

Qualifications and Experience

  • University education in education, sport management, international development, project management or a relevant field;
  • Experience working with partners, with sports partners is an advantage;
  • Experience of working with children and young people;
  • Experience of working with non-profit project cycle management tools and practices
  • Community development experience, with Sport for Development experience an advantage;
  • Mentoring and coaching experience;
  • Representation experience, including public speaking;
  • Experience working in a complex partnership environment with multiple competing priorities;
  • Successful team building and leadership experience;
  • Fluency in English and relevant national language/s;
  • A commitment to creating an environment that enables national partners to grow and achieve their full potential.

You are expected to remain alert and responsive to any child safeguarding and Sexual Exploitation, Abuse or Harassment (SEAH) risks and conduct yourself in a manner consistent with Child Safeguarding and Prevention of SEAH Policies.
