Special Events Manager

One Tree Planted is a US-based 501(c)(3) non-profit focused on global reforestation. As an environmental charity, we are dedicated to making it easier for individuals and businesses to give back to the environment, create a healthier climate, protect biodiversity, and help reforestation efforts around the world. All by planting trees!

POSITION PURPOSE:

A versatile position at a nonprofit that wants to make it simple for anyone to help the environment by planting trees. Together we can restore forests, create habitat for biodiversity, and make a positive social impact around the world.This Manager, Special Events role will be primarily responsible for managing event support for One Tree Planted fundraising, partnership, and promotional initiatives.

Reporting Relationships

• Reports to our Director, Special Events

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• Provide event support for Sustainability, Fundraising, & Philanthropy teams, including but not limited to:

  • Planning and execution of conference side events or conference sponsorship activations
  • Planning and execution of donor connection / education events

• Identify opportunities for brand activations and coordinate details, including vehicle presence, staff support, visitor information capture, digital marketing assets, etc.

• Coordinate event aspects for sponsors and partners. Details may include partner activations at One Tree Planted events and product donation arrangements.

• Supports Director of Special Events in brand-building events including but not limited to our annual ForestFest retreat and Climate Week events.

• Planning and execution of events include but is not limited to:

  • Establishing and respecting event budget
  • Research, scouting, and booking of venues, caterers, A/V production, transportation, supplies and materials, etc.
  • Communicating with/confirming sponsors, exhibitors, speakers and attendees as necessary
  • Coordinating with marketing team to deliver event assets

IDEAL QUALIFICATIONS

• EDUCATION: BACHELOR’S DEGREE
• RELATED EXPERIENCE: 5 YEARS OF RELEVANT EXPERIENCE PLUS RELATED FIELDS AND BE A SELF STARTER. EXPERIENCE IN EVENTS A PLUS.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Driven, hard-working, and highly organized
• Willingness to work flexible hours and travel as events may require
• High energy, initiative, and creativity are desired
• IDEAL LOCATION:  Montreal, but open to remote

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS

COMPENSATION:  typical starting range is $65,000-$75,000 CAD which will be based on skills and experience. Annual performance increase may be available but not guaranteed.
