Software Engineer II

The Position

We are searching for a self-driven, detail-oriented Software Engineer interested in building first-in-class REST APIs that power energy consumers’ user experiences. You’ll collaborate with a great team of developers to design, implement and scale microservices on a data platform to be utilized by all of Uplight’s applications.

What you get to do:

We are looking for an intermediate developer who has one year or more of experience working with a software engineering team to build and support production grade software. Our ideal candidate has hands-on experience with Python, RESTful APIs, unit-testing, relational databases and microservice architecture.

We are looking for someone who is excited to learn and grow! Our team is in the driver’s seat of an API First transformation at Uplight; this includes defining and automating Uplight’s API Lifecycle standards. Also, in partnership with SRE, we continue to hone our Software Development Lifecycle practices - configuring cloud infrastructure using Terraform, adopting OpenTelemetry for observability and utilizing robust CI/CD pipelines.  
We are looking for a great teammate who loves collaborating on hard problems. This candidate is accountable for their work, communicates effectively and respectfully, and is willing to provide a helping hand.

Salary Range: $100,000 to $120,000

In accordance with the Colorado Equal Pay for Equal Work Act, the approximate annual base compensation range is listed above. The actual offer, reflecting the total compensation package and benefits, will be determined by a number of factors including the applicant's experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity among our team.
