Position Purpose
A versatile position within a dynamic nonprofit that provides
community-inspired, volunteer-powered disaster relief. The position is full-time and is responsible for learning to and leading groups of skilled and unskilled volunteers in Smoke Remediation and response projects in disaster-impacted communities

Essential Functions
- Responsible for developing professionally following the site supervisor trainee training matrix (project schedule based on progress, targets, and deliverables)
- Support in leading and lead teams of volunteers in residential Smoke Remediation projects and offer skilled troubleshooting and technical advice on worksites.
- Teach unskilled volunteers skills and techniques to perform the tasks as safely and efficiently as possible.
- Train unskilled volunteers how to safely use tools (e.g., Hepa vacuum, cleaning chemicals etc.) and ensure safety protocols are followed.
- Lead teams of volunteers in less technical response scopes of work such as distribution
- with support from the Project Manager, ensure compliance with work scope and quality standards.
- Communicate tasks and expectations clearly to team members, providing effective technical training and constructive feedback when necessary to ensure compliance with project safety and quality standards, tracking near misses and incidents and updating safety procedures accordingly.
- Maintain a clean, safe and organized work site.
- Support the Project Manager with maintaining records of work completed including tracking material usage, volunteer hours, and scopes performed, and updating these on organizational platforms such as Salesforce and Google Drive.
- Positively represent the organization on base and within the community, maintaining excellent relationships with beneficiaries, community members, and other stakeholders
- Perform other duties as required
Position Requirements
- Education High school diploma or equivalent
- Related Experience Previous All Hands and Hearts experience preferred, for example at least one month volunteering and one month as Team Leader. Any previous experience with Smoke Remediation is helpful.
- Special Competencies/Certifications Good written and oral communication skills and confident working with Google Workspace, particularly Google Docs and Google Sheets; and Microsoft Office. Applicants need to be well organized and have a flexible approach to managing multiple tasks and prioritizing them appropriately. The individual is able to manage a large workload and perform in a fast-paced environment.
Working Conditions and Physical Demands
- Constantly works in outdoor adverse weather conditions
- Frequently moves items weighing up to 40 lbs on work site or on base
- Frequently operates construction equipment (table saws, impact drivers, drills, and more)

- Frequently ascends/descends ladders and scaffolding
- Must be able to remain in a stationary position

Compensation & Benefits
- Starting pay is $17.27 per hour
