Position Purpose
A versatile position within a dynamic nonprofit that provides community-inspired, volunteer-powered disaster relief. The position is a stipend and is responsible for developing construction-related skills according to the Site Supervisor Training Program.
Reporting Relationships
Essential Functions
Responsible for developing professionally following the site supervisor trainee training matrix (project schedule based on progress, targets, and deliverables)
Adheres to an agreed set of safety and quality standards and ensures these standards are maintained
Supports the Construction Site Coordinator and Site Supervisor with on site tracking and completing site diary and work logs.
Supports the construction team in planning the workflow on construction sites
Together with the Construction Site Coordinator and Site Supervisor hold daily morning meetings on-site to deliver health and safety briefings and divide the work for a day
Oversees certain tasks on construction sites. Leads and directs the work of individual teams of volunteers and masons
Supports the Site Supervisor to implement Team Leader’s training and holds regular Team Leaders meetings and local workers meetings.
This is a training role, in which the candidate will spend a minimum of 3 months up to duration of the program; if a candidate successfully completes training, the expectation is that they will be available to progress to another role and stay with the organization for multiple programs.
We have decided to relax the requirement for Covid-19 vaccination for on program staff. While we still strongly recommend Covid-19 vaccination, along with other standard and travel immunizations as recommended by the CDC and WHO, Covid-19 vacation will no longer be required.
