All Hands and Hearts is a disaster relief nonprofit. Our program bases are located in the communities we serve, and staff members live in communal environments. Position Purpose
A versatile position within a dynamic nonprofit that provides relief to survivors of natural disasters. The position is a stipend and is responsible for developing construction-related skills according to the Site Supervisor Training Program.
Reporting Relationships
- Reports to Project Manager (daily work flow is managed by the Construction Site Coordinator)

Essential Functions
- Responsible for developing professionally following the site supervisor trainee training matrix (project schedule based on progress, targets, and deliverables)
- Adheres to an agreed set of safety and quality standards and ensures these standards are maintained
- Supports the CSC and SS with on site tracking and completing site diary and work logs.
- Supports the construction team in planning the workflow on construction sites
- Together with the CSC and SS hold daily morning meetings on-site to deliver health and safety briefings and divide the work for a day
- Oversees certain tasks on construction sites. Leads and directs the work of individual teams of volunteers and masons
- Supports the SS to implement Team Leader’s training and holds regular Team Leaders meetings and local workers meetings
- This is a training role, in which the candidate will spend a minimum of 3 months up to duration of the program. If a candidate successfully completes training, the expectation is that they will be available to progress to another role and stay with the organization for multiple programs.
- We understand vaccination is the best way to protect our beneficiaries, community members, staff and volunteers, therefore we require all of our on program staff members to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19. To be considered for this position you must be fully vaccinated. Subject to applicable guidance, the term fully vaccinated currently refers to when an individual has received either a single-shot vaccine or both doses of a two-shot vaccine, and two weeks have elapsed since the final dose.

Position Requirements
- Education Construction related education (Architecture/ Engineering/Tradesmanship) preferred.
- Related Experience Must have a minimum of 2 months of volunteer and 1-month Team Leader and/or Site Manager AHAH experience and hands-on construction background. Experience managing construction teams and/or in a development setting preferred. Previous international travel experience, preferably in developing countries. Previous training experience preferred. Experience of various construction techniques including but not limited to timber structures, RCC and metalwork. Knowledge of health and safety construction standards. Learning oriented, demonstrates leadership.
- Special Competencies/Certifications Must be able to secure and maintain appropriate visas. Spanish speaker preferred. Good written and oral communication skills and confidence working with Google Suite, Microsoft Office, particularly Word and Excel. The applicant needs to be well organized and have a flexible approach to managing multiple tasks and prioritizing them appropriately. The individual is able to manage a large workload and perform in a fast-paced environment. Safe handling of hand and power tools on site. Strong leadership skills with a proactive approach to identifying and solving problems.

- Pay rate is $200-$400 USD/ month, based on position, skills and experience
