About the opportunity
As the Service Line Director - Offshore Wind (OSW), you will be responsible for coordinating the offshore wind technical staff and experts in the development and permitting of offshore wind and offshore transmission projects. You will work closely with SWCA’s Client Services Group and is anticipated to work collaboratively with Offshore Wind Client Services Lead to grow SWCA’s offshore wind and offshore transmission market share. You will play a pivotal role in helping to shape our offshore wind business strategies, helping to drive growth and relationships with offshore wind and other renewable energy developers, and ensuring the successful execution of offshore wind projects. This is an exciting opportunity to lead a dynamic team of offshore wind professionals, collaborate with SWCA’s client services group, continue building and strengthening our relationships with the offshore wind industry and key stakeholders, and contribute to the expansion of clean energy generation.

What you will accomplish
The Service Line Director - Offshore Wind will be responsible for leading and/or managing the following:
- Lead and coordinate a cross-functional team, including project managers, engineers, environmental specialists, and other professionals, to drive project development and execution.
- Monitor project progress, budgets, and schedules, and implement corrective actions as required to ensure successful project delivery.
- Stay updated on industry trends, technological advancements, and regulatory developments related to offshore wind energy.
- Participate in projects as Project Director/Principal, Project Manager, or technical contributor either in the permitting or compliance phases of the project.
- Direct and prepare scoping approaches, studies, environmental assessments, site assessments, construction, and operation plans, federal and state permitting, etc. for OSW projects as applicable to area of expertise.
The Service Line Director - Offshore Wind will support the SWCA client services group and work together with our "Offshore Wind Client Services Lead" to:
- Develop and implement the company's offshore wind strategy, ensuring alignment with overall business objectives and sustainability goals.
- Identify and evaluate potential offshore wind project opportunities in the active OSW US geographies, assessing feasibility, financial viability, and technical aspects.
- Establish and maintain relationships with relevant industry partners, government agencies, contractors, and other stakeholders to facilitate project development and secure necessary permits and approvals.
- Collaborate with internal teams to optimize project performance, drive innovation, and identify opportunities for cost reduction and efficiency improvement.
- Provide strategic guidance and advice to senior management, presenting project updates, financial forecasts, and risk assessments.
- Lead all offshore wind client and business development, market penetration strategy development and implementation.
- Identify and pursue opportunities to deliver a variety of SWCA services in the OSW market including, but not limited to consulting, permitting, siting and planning through formal RFP process and relationship-based development.
- Lead, support, and coordinate proposals (bids) for OSW projects.
- Further increase SWCA’s industry presence through active participation in industry professional associations, publications, and conferences.
Experience and qualifications for success
- Bachelor's or master's degree in engineering, renewable energy, or a related field. An MBA or other business-related degree is a plus.
- 15+ years project and program management-related experience including experience in the OSW market.
- Marketing and business development skills in addition to contacts/relationships in OSW and renewable energy market.
- Proven major project experience for large programs/contracts.
- Proven experience in the development, construction, and operation of offshore wind projects, including a track record of successful project delivery.
- Strong knowledge of the offshore wind industry, including industry standards, best practices, and regulatory requirements.
- Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage a team towards common goals.
- Excellent project management abilities, including budgeting, scheduling, and risk management.
- Strong business acumen and strategic thinking to drive growth and navigate complex challenges.
- Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively engage with stakeholders at all levels.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Flexibility to travel domestically and/or internationally as required.

An employee in this Boston - based position can expect a salary of $154,440-$217,620. Actual pay within this range may depend on experience, qualifications, geographic location, client requirements where applicable, and other factors permitted by law. Regular-status employees are also eligible for performance bonuses.
