Overview
At the direction of the Director of Service Experience, the Coordinator will support program initiatives that provide AmeriCorps members with meaningful, equitable, and impactful service experiences. This position will coordinate and create member resources and systems that support member experience, retention, and satisfaction, including coordinating and implementing high-quality training and support systems. This position also creates, edits, and refines support materials for members and program management personnel to enhance and support the member and alumni experience. The Coordinator will report to the Director of Service Experience and will work in close collaboration with national program managers, operations leadership, and training and learning leadership. The Coordinator will support the full national portfolio of programs at Reading and Math Inc. This position will observe confidentiality of all member, program and organizational information.
Responsibilities
Member Training
- Support the national strategy for required and supplemental member training. Support the development of the Service Kick Off experience, ensuring all members are adequately oriented at the start of their term with a sense of excitement and purpose. Assist in the development of Member Orientation and Corps Day training materials, staff guides and hubs. Create training materials, videos, documents, forms and other resources related to AmeriCorps member training and service support which ensures compliance with federal rules and regulations. The coordinator will have a role in leading, presenting and supporting service initiatives such as Service Kick Off, Corps Days, , National Days of Service, Life After AmeriCorps and other training opportunities for members and alumni. Support the creation of optional Learning Management System and live supplemental training materials for national program staff. This may include developing training content, writing training plans, creating training videos and other materials, etc. The coordinator will collaborate with Content Directors and Director of Service Experience to develop trainings and is responsible for delivering training content and collaborating with their supervisors throughout the year as it relates to training and support.
- Member Engagement and Retention
- Collaborate across departments to ensure members receive optimal support, resources, and access to benefits to support successful, equitable member retention. Coordinate
- and implement opportunities and infrastructure for AmeriCorps members to reflect on their service and support regional engagement in these opportunities. Coordinate and implement national member recognition initiatives and support regional engagement in these opportunities. Coordinate initiatives to gather feedback from members and support the Director in creating and implementing strategies to analyze, share, and respond to feedback. Maintain and regularly update an online portal for members and site supervisors for all programs to access resources.
- Leadership Development Support:
- Provide logistical and administrative support in the creation and implementation of structured leadership opportunities across programs and regions for AmeriCorps members to grow their skills during their term of service. Support efforts to connect members and alumni for learning, networking, and professional development.
- Serve as the organization’s liaison and coordinator for ServeMinnesota’s InterCorps Council. Support the creation, maintenance and expansion of career pathways and career pathways infrastructure for AmeriCorps members to optimize their experience as assigned. This may include creating materials, facilitating training or collaborative session, and liaising with internal and external partners. Support the creation of training and resources for Lead Tutors, plus take the lead in training and coordination of Lead Tutors.
- Position Development Support:
- Assist staff in the creation and modification of position descriptions, yearlong service calendar planning and position requisition form completion and submission. · Create systems, manage deadlines, and collaborate across teams and regions to ensure alignment to organizational goals and AmeriCorps rules and regulations related to member service terms.
- Support with the creating of schedules, materials, and processes to ensure position descriptions are aligned, accurate, comply with AmeriCorps rules and regulations and are posted.
Qualifications
Minimum Education
· Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience (required)
Minimum Experience
· 1+ years of relevant experience in program management or support, preferably at a non-profit and/or AmeriCorps program. Knowledge of AmeriCorps regulations and grant administration procedures.
· Generative, flexible, collaborative, and proactive; a collaborative team member who can positively and productively impact initiatives and worked towards shared goals.
· Ability to structure tasks and efficiently manage time and workload.
· Exceptional written, oral, interpersonal, and presentation skills and the ability to effectively interface with members and staff. Able to display high levels of customer service, responding promptly and thoroughly to the inquiries and needs.
· Ability to think creatively and collaboratively to solve problems when faced with complex situations.
· Attention to detail and commitment to accuracy. Capable of reliably coordinating and documenting complex logistics.
· Analytical skills and commitment to data-informed decision-making. Sense of responsibility for advancing diversity, equity, and inclusion. Commitment to develop equity skills and cultural competence of self and others.
· Commitment to supporting all members and service recipients enrolled in our programs.
· Ability to work effectively in collaboration with diverse groups of people.
· Familiarity with the development, engagement, and retention of AmeriCorps members.
