Dewberry has an excellent opportunity for a Senior Water Resilience Project Manager with at least 15 years of experience with an emphasis on the design, and project management of large stormwater structures. Some coastal design experience is also desired. A candidate local to the Virginia Beach office is preferred, with some flexibility offered.  The Senior Project Manager will serve as a technical lead and/or as a Project Manager on planning, engineering, and construction of large-scale projects to address stormwater flooding, habitat restoration, marine/waterfront structures, sea-level rise, and mitigation studies or projects. The Senior Project Manager will also participate in the development of proposals, lead business development, present at conferences, participate in professional organizations, and will have the opportunity to grow nationally. Responsibilities

  • Develop strong client relationships in a Project Manager and Client Manager role.
  • Lead multi-disciplined teams of professionals on large design projects.
  • Lead strategy and capture planning on pursuits of large design projects.
  • Candidate should be able to perform engineering analysis; develop preliminary and detailed designs of stormwater facilities; and write specifications and construction documents.
  • Manage, lead, execute, and/or provide technical support for resilience, water resources, and hazard mitigation projects within the municipal, regional, and Federal markets.
  • Communicate with clients, establish goals and objectives for project teams, and schedule and coordinate resources to deliver projects on time, within budget, and to the performance expectations of the client.

Required Skills & Required Experience

  • BS or MS degree (with an emphasis in Water Resources or Stormwater Engineering).
  • At least 15 years of experience in stormwater engineering.
  • Virginia PE License, or ability to obtain a VA PE through comity.
  • Progressive experience conducting business development and project delivery for stormwater and resilience projects in coastal communities, including Stormwater Pump Stations, flood control channels and tide gates.
  • Knowledge of USACE, Virginia DOT, FEMA, AWWA standards and procedures for design.
  • Knowledge of coastal engineering design, such as revetments, groins, beach nourishment, marsh creation, bulkheads, breakwaters, and dredging is a plus.
  • Candidate must have strong technical writing and communication skills.
  • Experience using ArcGIS, AutoCAD Civil 3D, Microstation.
  • Knowledge of hydrodynamic modeling programs such as PC-SWMM, MIKE, HEC-RAS and Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD), is a plus.
  • Extensive experience in Virginia tidewater region is desirable, but experience in a similar coastal region will also be considered a plus.
  • A clean driving record is required.

Salary Range

The projected range for this position is $180,000-$210,000 annually. Depending upon other factors, i.e., skills, experience, location, market conditions, the range may vary slightly. These ranges are for NY only.
