Senior Treasury Analyst

🇨🇦 Toronto, ON, CA 📝 FULL-TIME 🎯 MID LEVEL

Job Summary:

The Senior Treasury Analyst will review financial transactions, examine cash flows, prepare treasury reports, liaise with banks and lending institutions and collaborate with the business units and other head office functions in order to create financial and short-term cash flow forecasts and management strategies.

Responsibilities:

  • Build a co-operative relationship with the business units and head office in order to forecast weekly or bi-weekly cash flows including developing a financial model by legal entity and consolidation

  • Recommend changes to process

  • Identity and explain variances in cash flows

  • Work with Treasurer to optimize cash balances and investments

  • Maintain a bank registry of all bank accounts in the jurisdictions in which Li-Cycle operates including main banking and service provider contacts

  • Reporting

    • Monitor and report daily cash and investment balances (including rates and terms offered by banks) by legal entity and consolidation
    • Prepare exposure reports on quarterly basis for Treasurer
  • Banking Duties

    • Management of all bank accts including reviewing and analyzing bank fees
    • Administer all banking and credit card activities
    • Liaise with banks on everyday banking and compliance matters
    • Managing a transition of changing day-to-day bank from a planning, execution and completion perspective
  • Hedging

    • Execute spot transactions for head office
    • Assist Treasurer on senior mgmt. decks re hedging and risk
    • Review trade and investment documentation to ensure consistency with executed trades
    • Review settlement procedures
  • Credit Facilities

    • Administer drawings and paperwork re borrowings on all credit facilities
    • Review quarterly compliance certificates including financing covenant calculations
    • General understanding of credit facility terms and conditions
  • Other

    • Assist with insurance, tax and other projects on an as needed basis
    • Liaise with other depts (Legal, IT, M&A, Accounting etc.) on cash, banking and treasury-related matters

Qualifications

  • University degree/college diploma in accounting/finance or related field of study
  • 5+ years’ related work experience, preferable in a mining industry
  • Financial modeling skills using excel
  • Technical competence in cash management and corporate treasury management/reporting with strong analytical skills
  • Experience working within a public traded company considered an asset
  • Strong problem solving and analytical skills with high attention to detail and accuracy
  • Strong financial and mathematic abilities
