Job Description

ELEVATE is looking for a talented sustainability consultant to join the Supplier Engagement practice of our Advisory team in Asia. The (Senior) Consultant will primarily be responsible for helping suppliers evaluate and improve their policies, procedures and processes related to ESG. This is a role that involves significant on-site activities with suppliers: going into factories or other facilities to dive deep into issues, to develop improvement strategies, and to drive subsequent implementation.

In addition to project delivery, the candidate will also contribute to other ELEVATE business priorities such as product development, business development, and training.

Responsibilities

• Own and deliver specific tasks on time and at a high level of quality for client projects, with guidance from more senior staff:

• Visit supplier sites to identify opportunities, develop strategies, and implement plans related to strengthening sustainability performance

• Research, analyze, and synthesize information, findings, and recommendations to address client needs

• Create client deliverables, such as reports and presentations

• Engage with clients (including brands) and on-site staff, and present deliverables to clients

• Contribute to proposal writing, networking, and raising the profile of ELEVATE (including at events) to help secure new business opportunities with existing and prospective clients

• Support product and service research and development as directed

• Use ELEVATE platforms and processes (Wrike, Salesforce, COP and Revenue Recognition, etc.) accurately and in a timely manner

• Follow training and development plans as directed

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of experience in ESG / CSR compliance or sustainability initiatives (7+ for Senior Consultant)

• Experience in supplier settings, such as factory production areas – apparel and footwear industry experience preferred

• Ability and enthusiasm for making supplier site visits on a regular basis

• Experience working with clients in a consulting role, or at a private company in a relevant area of work

• Strong knowledge of global ESG Compliance and Sustainability Directives, Regulations and Standards

• Fluency in written and spoken English and Vietnamese required. Additional regional language skills a plus.

• Strong critical thinking and root cause analysis skills – able to quickly diagnose priority issues, develop solutions and plans, and drive them to completion

• Ability to communicate effectively with a wide range of stakeholders and audiences, from local factory staff to international brand representatives, across cultures

• Ability to produce professional, compelling reports, presentations, and other ouputs

• Ability to work virtually, one-on-one, or in a team

• Capacity to work across different time zones (i.e., to hold meetings outside of regular local working hours as needed)

• Strong computer skills: command of Microsoft 365 Suite, search engines, online meeting tools, project management software, and proprietary systems knowledge
