Program Overview

The EDF Legal, Ethics & Compliance team supports the entire portfolio of EDF entities and mission operations around the world.  As a team, we are strategic legal partners that strive to anticipate, support and advance the EDF mission via its business operations and the work of its people around the world. Overall Function

The Senior Specialist, Contracts will work within the Legal, Ethics and Compliance team, and collaborate with Procurement, Grants, and other teams to help streamline the contracting and contract management process. Reporting to the Senior Director & Managing Counsel – Global Commercial, this role will provide essential support to EDF’s global contracts and workforce agreements. Your organization, issue spotting, problem solving, drafting and negotiation skills will support the team and EDF’s mission globally.  You will be responsible for reviewing contract terms and conditions to ensure compliance with the organization’s policies, procedures and preferences, and will be positioned to help lead EDF’s contract process and assure the accuracy and integrity of its legal documents. As a team, we are exposed to a broad range of legal and operational matters that a multinational nonprofit organization encounters, and you’ll have lots of opportunity to expand your skills and experience over time.

As an individual contributor, you’ll be responsible for:

• working within Legal and across departments and mission teams to facilitate contract and grant review, drafting, and negotiation.
• collaborating with Procurement, Grants and other teams to help ensure the completeness, accuracy and integrity of the organization’s contract management system.
• providing training to staff members on the contracting process.
• maintaining and making enhancements to the organization’s contract templates.
• negotiating contract terms with counterparties.
• assisting in organizing and advancing legal team projects; and
• participating in advancing EDF DEI goals in which people from all backgrounds and experiences feel connected, included, and empowered to address the environmental and organizational challenges in alignment with EDF values**.**

Qualifications

• Four (4) or more years of experience as a contract specialist/manager, corporate paralegal, or similar role(s).
• Bachelor's degree, paralegal training, or equivalent work experience.
• Results-oriented, proactive individual with the ability to assess and communicate requirements and effectively manage priorities and expectations.
• Strong attention to detail, deadlines and organization required.
• Sound interpersonal and communication skills with ability to interact with poise and diplomacy.
• Affinity for a fast-paced work environment.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality, exercise discretion and work in a multi-cultural environment.
• Interest in current issues relating to climate change, energy efficiency, clean energy, air quality and environmental justice.
• Demonstrates self-awareness, cultural competency and inclusivity, and ability to work with colleagues and stakeholders across diverse cultures and backgrounds.

Minimum Salary

USD $74,000.00/Yr.

Maximum Salary

USD $80,000.00/Yr.
