Senior Software Developer

The Software Development Team is looking for a highly motivated and talented Senior Software Developer to develop the next generation of software services that powers several mission critical applications. This team is directly responsible to build, manage and expand on tools that enable software releases in a fast-paced enterprise environment. We operate in hybrid on-premise and public cloud (AWS) environments. We are currently running a large project to move all our products and services to AWS.

This is a full time, permanent role based in Melbourne or Brisbane (we are a flexible workplace).

Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):

  • Develop software of a high quality and ensure that projects and tasks are completed within agreed time frames.
  • Actively coordinate application development projects and tasks with other team members and stakeholders.
  • Create and maintain project code in accordance with Infoxchange standards.
  • Working on greenfield applications and uplifting existing applications.
  • Apply and enhance automated testing methods.
  • Develop necessary project and application documentation.
  • Contribute ideas and concepts for applications and application development.
  • Report regularly to the Software Development Team Leader.
  • Contribute to fostering a high performing team culture and help strengthen our dev team’s software engineering practices.
  • Keep up to date with current industry and technology trends.
  • Uphold and advocate for the values, beliefs, and principles as outlined in the Technical Services Team Manifesto

About you

  • 5+ years of backend development experience, preferably with Python, Django (including Django REST Framework)
  • Experience with Restful APIs development
  • Experience in web development, preferably with ReactJS or Vue
  • 3+ years working with AWS
  • 3+ years working with containerised solutions and/or serverless frameworks
  • Knowledge of cloud-native application architectures and design patterns
  • Experience with Docker and familiar with container orchestration platforms such as Kubernetes, EKS, ECS
  • Experience with serverless data services such as S3, AWS Glue, Athena
  • Skilled in, or exposure to, several developer toolchains such as Git, GitHub, GitHub Actions, AWS Pipeline, CodeBuild.
  • Experience with Unit Testing, preferably TDD or BDD
  • Ability to work in a team environment and effectively engage with internal working relationships, customers and partners.
  • Ability to set and manage priorities judiciously.
  • Excellent decision-making skills.
  • Excellent analytical, evaluative, and problem solving abilities.
  • High-level of communication skills and interpersonal skills.
  • Keen attention to detail.
  • Energy and passion for the work, sense of fun and enjoyment for what can be achieved.
  • Must have valid full working rights in Australia
