E3G is seeking a Senior Researcher to work within its Public Banks and Development team. The post-holder will contribute to the coordination of research on the E3G Public Bank Climate Tracker Matrix, an online tool for assessing the Paris alignment of Multilateral Development Banks and bilateral Development Finance Institutions. The Senior Researcher will be based in one of our E3G offices in either Berlin, Brussels, London or Washington DC, with a preference for Berlin.

The role
E3G’s mission is to ensure climate safety for all. E3G’s Public Banks and Development team works towards two specific goals in this context:
This role will support the Public Banks and Development team’s core work, with a particular focus on the E3G Public Bank Climate Tracker Matrix. This will include the production of high-quality research about public banks, direct engagement with the staff and shareholders of public banks, and collaborative working with other teams across E3G in support of shared goals.
Key Responsibilities
Delivery and coordination of research, including qualitative and quantitative analysis for E3G’s Public Bank Climate Tracker Matrix and ensure that the Matrix is kept updated with high-quality, accurate and relevant information.
Monitoring changes in the development finance sphere. Analysing and assessing policies relevant to the climate ambition of public banks and other development finance institutions, and the related policies of shareholder/donor governments.
Producing internal and external communications materials in relation to role responsibilities, e.g., internal meeting readouts and analysis, E3G policy briefings, reports, social media content.
Playing a central role in building and managing E3G relationships with stakeholders in the development finance ecosystem internationally, including bank officials, shareholders, NGOs, and policymakers.
Coordinating with other E3G teams and with external stakeholders in order to make improvements to the Public Bank Climate Tracker Matrix and to expand its use inside and outside E3G.
Providing general support to the work of the Public Banks and Development team, including around event organisation, team administration, etc.
Contribute to the work of the E3G organisation overall, proactively seeking and building internal collaborations with other teams to support E3G-wide strategic goals.
