SENIOR RESEARCHER, POLITICAL ECONOMY & CLIMATE CHANGE, LONDON
Political economy and governance sit at the heart of E3G’s approach to climate change. Our research and analysis inform critical strategies to achieve international climate ambition at COP30 and enable fair, rapid, and clean energy transitions throughout G20 countries. This role will support E3G’s new Centre for the Political Economy of Climate Change and its objective of connecting analysis to climate action, sharing knowledge, and bringing together stakeholders. We are seeking a smart, proactive individual to be part of this ambitious research and analysis agenda in this critical decade.

Role Overview
With experience in 30 countries and multiple sectors, E3G is working with partners to scale and professionalize capability for core political economy analysis with a research and analysis program spanning up to 20 countries in the next 3 years, along with convening, training and capacity building, strategic advisory support, and thought leadership. Powered by E3G’s climate-focused political economy mapping methodology (PEMM), the aim is to bring a step change in the political economy capabilities of the climate community to drive ambitious climate strategies and action across a range of issues, geographies, and sectors.
This is an exciting opportunity to play an active role in research and analysis, working with the E3G PEMM tool, contributing to a range of political economy analytical products in a wide range of sectors and economies, and sharing your analysis and insight with many national and international partners. Person Description
You will bring a strong track record of research and analysis in projects relevant to political economy, climate politics, and sectoral and societal transitions. You will be adept at working across a diverse range of sectoral, economic, and governance areas and in multiple countries, reaching analytical judgments to conform with defined strategic objectives. You will be skilled at adapting research approaches to project context and working with a range of partners and stakeholders in the research process and in the practical application and dissemination of research. You will be ready to contribute practical expertise on research and product development as well as increasingly in subject areas relevant to political economy and climate change in key sectors and countries.
