Job Overview

The Senior Research Analyst, Portfolio Management works closely with leadership within the Shorelight Global Solutions team, as well as internal stakeholders throughout the organization and its university partners to provide thorough data-driven analyses to inform portfolio optimization, partnership growth strategies, and new product development.

The individual in this role has a deep understanding of the trends in international higher education. He/she/they has a truly international outlook, the ability to work in a diverse environment, and possess a cross-cultural awareness and understanding.  He or she must show excellence in complex problem solving and have a keen ability to work in a matrix organization through effective cross-functional collaboration.  This role will report to the Executive Director, Portfolio Management.

Essential Functions

Business Intelligence

  • Monitor industry news, trends, and key data sources to inform research initiatives and portfolio expansion opportunities.
  • Design, manage, and quality control robust intelligence tools and reports to analyze business impact, enrollment potential, and market opportunities for potential new products and partnerships.
  • Produce high-level written communication and analyses including research briefs, white papers, reports, proposals, and other materials on request to support new partnerships, product development priorities, and go-to-market strategies. Facilitate cross-functional meetings as needed to clarify requirements, develop documentation, and execute on deliverables.
  • Present research and analyses internally and externally.
  • Optimize the post-launch analysis process and create scalable methodologies to track and analyze ROI metrics. Deliver post-launch reports on a quarterly basis or as requested.
  • Create and manage the distribution of a Portfolio Management newsletter to regularly share portfolio updates, product news, and market insights.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to coproduce white papers, exchange research best practices, and share business intelligence.

Operations

  • Design and distribute surveys to collect multi-stakeholder feedback for potential new products.
  • Manage the submission of RFPs and other related materials for potential new partners.
  • Coordinate cross-functionally to regularly update business intelligence tools with key industry data including SEVIS, IPEDs, rankings, etc.
  • Continuously optimize and streamline processes to accelerate research capabilities and scale the development of portfolio governance documentation.

Provide leadership and assistance where needed with special projects and ad hoc requests.

Security

·        Take responsibility for any Shorelight assets assigned to you

·        Promptly report any security events, incidents or weaknesses to Shorelight Security

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 5+ years’ experience in higher education management
  • Experience working with international students in an administrative or academic capacity
  • Exceptional ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously with fast-paced turnaround times
  • Exemplary interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills
  • Excellent problem-solving, decision-making, and creative thinking abilities
  • Advanced skills in research methodologies
  • Skills in data visualization tools, Tableau a plus
  • Experience using CRMs or Student Information databases, Salesforce a plus
  • 15-25% travel (primarily domestic although some international)
  • Eligibility to work in and travel freely to and from the United States without sponsorship

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s Degree
  • Familiarity of SQL a plus
  • Experience with InDesign a plus
  • Experience working with AWS Redshift a plus
