About the Job
 
We are seeking a senior-level remediation engineer for the engineering practice within our Investigation and Remediation business area. The successful candidate will have well-rounded civil and environmental engineering experience that includes demonstrated design experience in one or more of the following areas: groundwater and soil remediation systems, in situ soil and groundwater remediation, stormwater treatment, water treatment, and/or wastewater treatment. 
 
Successful candidates will have demonstrated ability in the evaluation of project data to develop applicable design criteria, interface with teaming partners and vendors, advise clients on remediation decisions, and, where appropriate, develop plans and specifications and oversee remedial construction and commissioning.  Demonstrated cost estimating and evaluation experience is essential, including development of high stakes engineer’s estimates for use in strategic client decision-making.  Construction oversight and other remediation system design experience is also a differentiator.
 
Responsibilities
 
As a Senior Remediation Engineer, your job functions will include, but not be limited to:

• Feasibility studies
• Remedial alternatives analyses
• Engineering evaluations
• Cost estimating and evaluation
• Preparation of plans and specifications
• Preparation of bid documents and subcontractor procurement
• Construction oversight
• Communication of technical information to varied audiences (e.g., clients, staff, regulators, and stakeholders)
• Technical support on litigation or allocation matters, including cost estimating
• Permitting
• Project management
• Proposal development
• Conference presentations and participation in professional organizations
• Numerical modeling

Qualifications
 
Candidates should hold a B.S. or graduate degree (preferred) in civil or environmental engineering from an accredited institution and hold a PE license in civil or environmental engineering (civil preferred).
 
The successful candidate will have:

• 6 - 12 years of experience in site investigation, environmental remediation and water treatment systems
• Well-rounded civil and environmental engineering experience that includes demonstrated design experience in one or more of the following areas: site investigation, groundwater remediation systems, stormwater treatment systems, water treatment plants, and wastewater treatment plants
• Demonstrated ability in the evaluation of project data to develop applicable design criteria and produce plans and specifications for water treatment and site remediation applications
• Demonstrated high-level cost estimating experience
• Strong track record in high quality deliverable preparation including proposals and technical reports
• Experience with use and integration of ArcGIS, AutoCAD, WaterCAD and graphics applications to support environmental engineering evaluations and design is highly desirable
• Ability to effectively collaborate with clients and senior leadership to ensure project tasks are executed on time and within budget by the project team
• Experience developing and effectively presenting complex technical content to clients and other stakeholders
• Strong quantitative and problem solving skills
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• A desire to grow intellectually and professionally
• Demonstrated ability to work successfully within multidisciplinary and diverse teams
