Senior Project Officer – Inclusive Growth and Climate Change

Location: Brighton (you don’t need to be in the office every day, travel to the office would be expected for key company and team events which are typically once a month)
Remote or hybrid: Hybrid (UK working only)
Contract: Fixed term for 12 months with the potential for extension
Hours: Full time 37.5 per week
Salary: Circa £38,000 pa depending on experience

This role sits with our Inclusive Growth and Climate Change practice, which recognises that the threats posed by climate change are global and have the potential to reverse hard-fought development gains.
Our Inclusive Growth and Climate Change team is recognised as a global leader in providing monitoring, evaluation, learning, strategy advice, and services to a diverse range of clients. Our support encompasses a range of economic development and climate change/ nature projects, these include areas such as; climate adaptation and resilience, natural resource management, nature-based solutions, oceans/ coastal adaptation, climate finance, impact investing and innovative finance, markets systems development, agriculture, private sector development, social business and supply chains, financial inclusion, infrastructure and cities and women’s economic empowerment.
Role Overview: As a Senior Project Officer, you will play a critical role within our Inclusive Growth and Climate Change Practice, playing a key role in leading the delivery of projects or programmes throughout their lifecycle and coordinating business development activities and supporting practice processes. You will work closely with the Commercial Practice Manager and other Senior Project Officers/Officers to ensure day-to-day continuity across the Practice. The Candidate
You will possess strong project management skills and have experience in working with teams managing complex projects from proposal to completion; ensuring they are delivered on time, within scope, and budget. Excellent organisational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously are essential. You should also demonstrate strong problem-solving abilities, effective communication skills, and the capacity to adapt to changing project requirements and environments.
As a commercially focussed professional you will be able to bring your experience of working in a commercially astute and effective way by delivering workload planning and prioritisation to a high standard in this role. You will have a track record in creating and implementing new and innovative solutions to commercial challenges throughout the business development process and project lifecycle.
You will be a team player who can demonstrate communication skills and experience to convey and execute instructions with other colleagues to ensure the delivery of key project activities, preferably across simultaneous projects or a programme. As an experienced relationship investor, you will have a proven track record of developing and maintaining successful relationships with internal teams as well as external clients.
As a self-aware professional, you will bring the appropriate influence and credibility to the role whilst working closely with other Itad Business Units to deliver across monthly and quarterly cycles. Active learning with various project roles will be a key skill to develop your own knowledge and that of others. Your demonstrable delivery of improvements to a wider business will be of benefit in this role and ensures an Itad Focused strength.
