About our organization
Climate Policy Initiative (CPI) is an analysis and advisory organization with deep expertise in finance and policy. Our mission is to help governments, businesses, and financial institutions drive economic growth while addressing climate change. Our vision is to build a sustainable, resilient, and inclusive global economy. CPI has six offices around the world in Brazil, India, Indonesia, the United Kingdom, and the United States.
The Global Climate Finance Tracking & Integrity program (or Tracking and Integrity) drives informed climate finance action by creating a robust evidence base at global, regional, national, and sectoral levels. As part of our Tracking efforts, CPI produces the biennial Global Landscape of Climate Finance, the most comprehensive dataset and analysis of global climate financing available, which is used extensively in the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) Assessment Reports. Additionally, CPI has created the Net Zero Finance Tracker, a tool that captures, standardizes, and assesses action across multiple data sources to provide a comprehensive picture of how finance institutions are progressing on Paris Agreement goals and delivering net zero impact on the grounds.
Our unique analysis covers both public and private finance data, providing access to that data through concise reporting and interactive data visualization. Our research provides a baseline against which to measure progress towards levels of investment and net zero targets consistent with climate goals. In doing so, we partner with public and private institutions, data providers, research organizations and international organizations to identify high impact policy action, effective and efficient climate finance instruments and to elevate best in class research outputs. We also engage in dialogues with key decision makers on data and evidence-based policy discussions and capital allocation strategies.
