Third Generation Environmentalism is hiring a
Senior Policy Advisor, Central and Eastern Europe, Berlin
E3G is looking for an experienced and outcome-focused team player to lead E3G’s work into Central and Eastern Europe with a focus on accelerating the transition from fossil fuels to renewables in the power sector. This position will be based in E3G’s Berlin office.
Background
E3G is an independent think tank with a global outlook. We are world leading strategists on the political economy of climate change, dedicated to achieving a safe climate for all.
A transformation to a climate neutral European economy must happen by mid-century if we are to avoid dangerous climate change. For success of the European Green Deal it is critical to create the political conditions in Central and Eastern European (CEE) countries for a deep, whole-economy transformation.
The Senior Policy Advisor role will lead E3G’s work in Central and Eastern Europe (Visegrád countries, Bulgaria and Romania) with a focus on the power sector transition and the role Germany and the EU can play in accelerating it. The successful candidate will focus on shaping the EU’s and Germany’s approach to energy and climate politics in these countries. The role will combine coalition building in the region with political analysis and engagement.
The role will require experience working with civil society, government and business stakeholders and a good understanding of climate and energy politics in the EU and CEE.
