Nonviolent Peaceforce (NP) is a dynamic, international non-governmental organisation. We work with people affected by violent conflicts to enhance their security and dignity through Unarmed Civilian Protection (UCP). We work to reduce violence, protect civilians in countries affected by violent conflict and its aftermath, and help transform the world’s response to conflict situations.
JOB SUMMARY
The Senior National Protection Officer role is to implement civilian protection and violence-prevention programming for those affected by violent conflict in Iraq. The position’s objectives and responsibilities build upon the responsibilities of the National Protection Officer position. The following objectives and responsibilities are in addition to the responsibilities of the National Protection Officer. However, this is not a management position. The Senior National Protection Officer does not have any line management or supervision authority over any member of a field team. The position should also provide support and coaching to colleagues. Directly assigning tasks is outside the confines of this role except when acting as the “Officer in Charge” in coordination with the Team Leader.
