Position Overview
The Senior Manager, Technology Operations will oversee and maintain all aspects of the enterprise infrastructure, to include maintaining networks, servers, and identifying causes and solutions related to technical requests. This person will possess a combination of customer service, technical management, and understanding of IT best practices to improve the delivery of technology. They will also serve as direct manager of the support team.
Essential Functions:
Systems support:
- Monitor, manage and maintain Windows based virtual servers on prem and in cloud environment.
- Manage services for Microsoft related technologies: Active Directory/Azure AD, Intune, Identity management, O365 applications and services.
- Support and maintain the network: physical and virtual WAN/LAN connectivity, routers, and security.
- Perform patch management on server and endpoint systems by testing then installing software releases or system upgrades.
- Perform system analysis to identify infrastructure enhancements.
identify and plan potential new cloud services, features, and capabilities.
- Standardize workflows and design automation of processes.
- Ensure all assets and licenses are accurately tracked and managed.
Customer support:
- Provide high level escalation support through analysis and problem resolution using remote communication or through telephone contact with end users.
- Manage IT support team.
- Assist team with identifying causes and solutions of difficult errors and incidents.
- Procure, configure, and deploy Windows and MacOS laptops.
- Conduct employee training on applications and equipment.
- Maintain documentation for department’s procedures and processes.
Qualifications:
- 5 years of experience in IT, process improvement, vendor management, and project management.
- Management experience with direct supervisor responsibilities.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate clearly in writing and verbally.
- Experience and understanding of Microsoft Office 365.
- Experience working on cloud platforms such as AWS and Azure.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Hyper-V virtual servers.
- Experience designing, integrating and maintaining Mobile Device Management systems.
- Excellent problem solving, time management and organizational skills; ability to prioritize work and meet customer demands and deadlines.
- Able to utilize a collaborative and strategic approach to problem solving.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
- Demonstrated ability to liaise between business, technology and vendor teams.
- Enjoy working in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience working in an international nonprofit organization highly preferred.
- A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related degree highly preferred.
