We are seeking a Senior Manager, Market Development and Regulatory Innovation to join our team and help us achieve our ambitious goals for our business and the planet.

What you will contribute:
**
You will join our team of utility and regulatory experts to work with internal and external stakeholders (inside Uplight and beyond) to help bring clean energy products to market and expand opportunities for Uplight solutions in the market.
Utility and regulatory expertise to grow Uplight’s business. You will provide a combination of consultative engagement, external thought leadership and advocacy, strategic insight and research support to help modernize utility regulations for the expansion of demand-side resources.

Help commercialize and grow industry-leading clean energy programs.
Evaluate the state-level regulatory context for innovative utility solutions under consideration:
Research and evaluate potential constraints to piloting and scaling.
Research and evaluate processes for accessing utility budgets.
Assess regulator and stakeholder sentiment towards potential Uplight solutions, identifying potential allies and opponents.
Represent Uplight externally with regulators, trade organizations, and industry participants to promote Uplight solutions, advocate for effective policies and support procurements of Uplight products:
Engage regulators, staff, and key stakeholders to educate on value propositions and alignment with their goals.
Develop and deliver educational collateral in stakeholder processes to build support for new solutions.
Engage in and/or supervise engagement in formal regulatory proceedings to secure necessary approvals for the commercialization of and cost recovery for Uplight solutions.
Track state regulatory and legislative developments in coordination with marketing, market intelligence, sales, product, and customer success colleagues.
Manage additional special projects, in partnership with Market Development team Industry Marketing colleagues and others across the company, to improve Uplight product offerings and to deliver increased value to our customers.

What you bring to Uplight:**
Bonus Points:
Experience advocating for the transformation of DSM programs, energy efficiency programs, distribution planning and/or IRP processes and tools, or wholesale power markets.
Demonstrated experience in key utility jurisdictions in the U.S., especially California, western U.S., or midwest states.
Additional experience and demonstrated thought leadership or program design in one or more of the following:
Utility rate design
Energy efficiency cost accounting
Transport electrification
Building electrification
Data sharing and privacy
The successful candidate is anticipated to have a juris doctorate or master’s degree in policy (or equivalent) but those are not required.

Salary Range: $132,000 to $147,000
In accordance with the Colorado Equal Pay for Equal Work Act, the approximate annual base compensation range is listed above. The actual offer, reflecting the total compensation package and benefits, will be determined by a number of factors including the applicant's experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity among our team.
